It was ticket web ( I refuse to capitalise their trademark) not ticket master that I suffered with too ! wish I had gone direct to ticket master. I found a 2nd standing ticket but at nearly double face value inc vat already. But bygones ! Lauryn is my favourite living artist and am so excited missed Nina Simone, Aretha in her prime (Curses she hates flying) and Donny Hathaway was before my time Also missed Lauryns last two tours - I would have paid the ticket price just for the final hour / sinnerman mash up in 2008 Hope to maybe meet a few of the folks from here too !! Woo hoo !

Argh ! What a bloody nightmare ! I even resorted to clicking on random purple dots like a madman to no avail ! Ticket master user interface rating 2/10. Resale tickets are already up on get in now ! This boils my piss, but I'll regret it if I don't pony up ! Hope you all had better luck than me

Just a thought, but sometimes tickets are released in batches at specific time intervals. Might be worth checking again today too !

I am from the UK too and can't wait to go to one of the European concerts ! I saw her with the fugees in 2005 but missed the 2008 / 2012 tours - Am not sure about the sloping floor at the O2 Brixton show as I will need to move lol ! If anyone is planning to go to the Brixton show or any of the European dates get in touch as I am the only one in my circle who fancies it

"We more alike, my friends, than we are unalike." Maya Angelou This quote sums up perfectly how I feel about so much

I think she is networking in every area. Anderson Cooper and the free press represent the media. Brown university represents education. I am sure MLH attended an Ivy League school herself ( Columbia). I think she is working in a longer timeframe than most artists / activists. She seems to be building the story of a life rather than going for maximum short term impact. If you read the wiki biography it reads like a legend lol. When you read that effectively she left music industry for ten years to raise her kids it seems a long time from our perspective now but if you think about reading it in 10 or 20 years time you may well have a story that reads, you can leave your career to raise your children and take it up again, Aka woman do not need to have a sell by date ! I like a long game plan I just wish I could book a plane ticket to a concert without fear that it would be rescheduled lol

I lied - not quite done yet people seem to gave forgotten what live music is like. With autotune used even on supposedly live performances and miming at concerts the norm we have reached the point where audience expections have exceeded what is practical to deliver Thank goodness there are artists out there who book the trend As a case in point I remember reading the sleeve notes to Jill Scott's first live album ( which I love ) where it mentioned that to capture those performances they recorded the whole tour and selected the best night. I think the term used was trapping lightening in a bottle, the album was even titled after the date of that night. Live performances are always variable that's why they are so special. Lucky for me sterilized music does not appeal To my mind one of greatest live albums of all time is Aretha Franklin's Amazing Grace. Even that album was re dubbed in part and condensed from two nights shows (luckily later restored and released in it's entirety The point is that there really is nothing in modern times to compare truly live performances to, even those highly regarded from the past are a snapshot of someone on their best day One exception to this is Nina Simone who to me to this day is the single greatest artist at communicating emotion to an audience - check out For a while from Ronny Scott's and Feelings from the MJF. It's like their is no barrier at all between her and audience . I think it is shush time for me now

Please don't get me wrong, I also liked this performance. For me MLH could sing, rap or fart the phone book and still find a way to convey genuine emotion while oozing musicality. My comments were only intended to highlight some of the practicalities associated with maintaining a voice. I agree voices change over time and even from hour to hour sometimes lol - but as someone who sings from time to time I know how frustrating it is when you want to take a song somewhere and your instrument will not cooperate. I don't expect MLH's voice to be technically perfect every time, I love the imperfections, they only add to the character I used the word dissapointed but a better description would be empathy for imagined frustration. I only wanted to make people who criticise her voice maybe stop and think a little more rationally about the subject. As an aside it seems rediculous to me when people say Whitney Houston wasted her talent. WH was one the most commercially successful and highly regarded singers of all time. I don't see how that could be regarded as a waste by any metric but people still say it. For me the tradegy of WH was that she was not able to tranistion her success into a lasting happiness for herself, not that she did not make ten more albums. people always want more it seems. MLH decided to sort out the happiness bit first it seems which is to me a great lesson, the poor man built his house on the sand and the house on the sand felt flat and all that. goodness I do go on ! Closing thought - next time you visit your doctor, ask how they are and mean it ooh and thanks for the warm welcome

I tried the internet archive and found the link to the interview from the bbc radio 1 website but it was defunct As a last resort I have e-mailed Trevor Nelson's people on his website - it's a long shot but Trevor gas always been a massive MLH fan. Fingers crossed
