@ Jena Guest " This seems strange to me" Remember she performed on Jimmy Fallon in 2011/2012 for the Bob Marley tribute.

Yes she performed on Jimmy Fallon but it was a Bob Marley tribute, it was normal because she makes lots of Bob Marley covers in concerts. But the Beatles... it's pretty new in her repertoire ^^ Edit: what's Lauryn will talk about (if there will be an interview) and what she will sing (Beatles song + one of her songs ?) will be interesting. If there will be an interview, she can use it to announce new materiel

Um...okkkk Out of all the thousands of artists in the world, they had to choose 5 to pay tribute to The Beatles this week, how the heck does Ms. Hill make the cut? Lol, how does she even get in the conversation? I know her taste in music is eclectic but the Beatles, tho--a for real TV tribute to the Beatles? It definitely should be interesting, Masdo.

Honestly, I like the idea that this is out of the ordinary as far as Ms. Hill is concerned. I'm actually looking forward to seeing which song she picks and how she is going to re imagine it. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I've concluded it's because Sony owns both her and the Beatles

Ah, so you think it's a Sony connection. But surely you didn't mean to say that Sony owns her, or did you? Hmmm, considering how the record industry operates, some may agree. I think I'll tune in to see how it goes, maybe.

I can see her doing a Beatles tune. I have a feeling she's going to do "Yesterday" by the Beatles. Probably Donny Hathaway version though...just a thought

I wasn't throwing shade or anything, just saying... lol If she wanted to perform for this, I think Sony has the power to insist to the show that she perform or else not allow their songs on the show. If she didn't want to perform, Sony probably has the power to "encourage" her somehow.

I so hope you are right. She would kill this. I am so excited! Also, she did perform with Yoko Ono just a few days ago. She was added last minute to the tribute. Maybe, Yoko heard her sing and suggested she be added to the tribute. I don't think anyone owns Lauryn.

Let us as actual "fans" of Ms. Hill not place her in a box. The Beatles was an influential band to many artists. She's already proven that when you think you know what she can do or should do, she'll "GET OUT". She can sit up and honor Ozzy Osbourne and she can do that because she's not stuck in one category. That's why her performing all over the world and doing these arrangements is so important. She has to constantly smash those dreams and visions of other people that's holding her down.
