Am praying she performs them on London too ! Am tempted to buy tickets for the 2nd night - so far it looks like the last date of the tour which means she doesn't have to be so concerned with maintaining her voice - ooh temptation -

Here is my favourite version I am so happy do many people got on board with this ! m.youtube.com/watch?v=Af7xuxtDBLoHow do I add the video direct to the forum ? There used to be a clearer version of this one but I can't find it ! The end is the best, you can see the crowd ignite when she gets to the "fear in it, fear in it... Fear in it" I did a little jump !

As a change from all the heated conversations that appear on this forum I have a radical proposal. Let's start a new thread once a week for a different song and share our favourite versions and discuss them - kind of like a book club. Similar to ode to ms hill blog but with interaction. I'll post a thread for ex-factor and let's see if it takes off

This is pure speculation, but it's fun to speculate it would not suprise me if letters from exile was suspended. I remember an interview, I think it was from Belgium, where Lauryn said she was struggling with finding the value and authenticity of releasing music about portions of her life that she had moved past and outgrown. Who would want to perform songs night after night about the intense experiences that change and teach us, it's not a nice place to go back to when you finally get to where you want to be. In the words of Amy Winehouse, "it's where you at, not where you been". I personally do find value in sharing how I overcome my issues to get to where I am. I'm not egocentric enough to believe my road map will work for anyone else but sometimes all someone needs to see is that they are not alone in their prediciment. That's why the unplugged album was so special to me the specifics were lauryns own internal conflicts but I saw myself in the overreaching sentiment and the vulnerability. When do you ever get to see that kind of honesty in the mainstream. I hope lauryn finds a way to relate those transitional periods and still find it fufulling. Letters from exile seemed the perfect title for such a project. When creativity comes it comes and if she is now making music that reflects her as she is now, it would make sense that it takes precedence while at its most relevant to her and society too. Letters from exile or a similar collection of songs about how she arrived where she is can really be released anytime. I wrote this free association style so if it's a bit rambling that's why:) Lauryn hill makes me proud to be a human being, from prizing personal integrity, confronting the Vatican, and following her own path. Don't get me wrong I have actual real people in my life who make me feel the same way and I treasure them, but Lauryn has a platform and I'll take any chance I can to support anyone that uses their voice and position in the manner she does. My true heros in life are the social workers, the mental health professionals, the rape councilers etc. those people give so much and are continually exposed to the worst humanity has to offer. They pay a price for what they do and so do their families and they make me also proud to be be a human being beyond compare

Maybe they should do a reality show on the logistics of running a tour. There could soundboards exploding at inopportune moments, boarder closures, missing luggage, a stylist's dog could eat a vital passport !
