Yes! I knew she was going to do Black Rage! Even with her voice being raspy, the essence and weight of the song really comes through.

I love the direction she took with this "sketch." Though I loved her previous version as well, this version allows you to hear the words so she doesn't have to explain what she just said to you at the end. lol That said, this song was just an awesome concept in general. The subject would've been too much for a lot of people had they heard it at any other time though. What I find amazing is that the arrangement that she envisioned is exactly what's on that ROUGH sketch/demo! That goes to show you that she's not playing about making sure that she ALONE is writing her music and not letting anyone claim that they created it. Listen to the last few performances of Black Rage and then listen to the demo and you can hear it's exactly what she wanted. She's just cooking up things in the lab! I'm so excited for this to be recorded finally!! mymajesticpage.blogspot.com/2012/11/ms-lauryn-hill-black-rage-unreleased.html

That sounds sick maybe one eday I'll write a horror Blackula comes to the ghetto, jacks an ACURA Stevie Wonder sees Crack Babies Be-Coming Enemies of their own families. What's going on? Damn, Another dead pigeon If your mafiosos then I'm bringin' on Haitian Sicilians Nobody's shootin', my body's made of hand grenade Girl bled to death while she was tongue-kissing a razor blade. That sounds sick maybe one eday I'll write a horror Blackula comes to the ghetto, jacks an ACURA Stevie Wonder sees Crack Babies Be-Coming Enemies of their own families. What's going on? Need help with this one too! That's not her lyrics. Everything that she puts out has substance and skill. Bragging in Hip Hop is art form in itself. It takes so much skill not to spit the same mundane lyrics over and over again.

It was her alright, but I keep wondering does life imitate art or does art (artists) imitate life.It reminds me of George Benson We are living in a masquerade. What is truth and have we truly been programmed to fear it??? It's like looking pass the smoke screens and truth is in there hiding that what my longing is. I respect Ms. Hill for the light I see; however, the flesh still wants to sit on the throne and I struggle with this as well sometimes. It difficult to separate the two, but one must die in order that the other might have dominion.
