This "Call me Ms Hill" nonsense went all the way to Lauryn Hill. It's so funny seing her reaction to this made up story. Good that she clearified this rumour. Maybe this interview will also set an end to the rumour that Columbia Records is holding her back. She said she could have but out Music three years ago, but she said she didn't see a purpose in droping the "Khulami Phase" Project at the time.

How do you know what’s relevant? I haven’t heard anything from you in the past like three, four years?’
What does she mean?
Do you think she means "You haven't talked to me in the past three, four years" or "I haven't heard relevant music from you in the last three, four years?

Not like before, meaning they are different then before but definitly not worse than before. The voice is more raw und unprotected; it goes perfect with a raw and honest Lauryn

If Lauryn makes beats that are equal to her vocal and lyrical skills there is no way Wyclef Jean or anyone else can touch her

If this is true than it's no suprise fugees wont reunite with two so big egos working against each other. Ms Hill said she was used to be supressed by the Fugees ten years ago and wont let that happen again and Wyclef still wants to be the head of it. Ms Hill will definitly only make a record she can take full credit for, like the Unplugged CD. If we assume that Ms Hill did the Beat for "Lose Myself" I think that we will still have to wait a while for a new album which has great beats all produced by Ms Hill.

I don't think the Rebel in Lauryn Hill is going to die. Eventhough "Lose Myself" is not a unplugged-style guitar song, the lyrics are honest and real. And this is a OST anyway. But I really don't believe, that the post-unplugged songs will ever be released. I think they are the songs Lauryn Hill "can't sit on" and needed for her "transition". Maybe "My Love" and "I had to walk", but I would be really suprised if we would ever see songs like "Damnable Heresies", "Chains" or "Since I found a new Love" on a studio album. And also "The Passion", "Selah" and "Lose Myself" have been released on CDs, they wont be on any Album. She was hurt after the MisEd which caused Lauryn Unplugged and then was hurt again by the response to her Unplugged which caused Ms. Hill. I personaly think she is gone beyond that post-unplugged state, where she was really serious about everything and is at a new place now. Her shows still start late, but now she is smiling. Do we even know if she is still "Ms. Hill", the enigmatic Diva whose behaivor was discussed highly on messages boards in 2005? I think she looks happier today. Maybe she did finally make peace.

We all are undecided wether "Lose Myself" is the beginning of Ms Lauryn Hills Return or not, eventhough we now know that on here official homepage, run by columbia record, a return is implied.
I was wondering, when did Lauryn Hill perform the last time an acoustic set wtih guitar only? I think it was "I had to walk" in Japan, but it looks like, she doesn't perform the "Unplugged" and "Post-Unplugged" songs anymore, like she used to in 2004 and 2005. She rather performes MisEd-Material and Bob Marley Covers and doesn't play so much guitar anymore.
Also the fact then she is smiling and laughing now a lot on stange, when she was all serious a few years ago. Maybe there is a new state of mind. "I had to wak" and "Lose Myself" have a similar message, they both describe a process. But "Lose Myself" goes a step further, cause it's not only about the "Walk", but also about the return. That is why it could give us hope.
Do you also see some changes?

I watched Surf's Up and "Lose Myself" never appears during the film. A short kind of pitched version of the song can be heared during the credits. I think it's the second or third song during the credits. I don't think alot of people will notice "Lose Myself" since it only appears in the credits and the OST.

Even this song, it could be as big as "Crazy in Love", if there only was more power in the Voice and the beat. Even Ms Hill's Style of singing on "Lose Myself" is not bad, but at least she could add back up vocals. Anyway, since most of us don't suspect Ms Hill to stick with this style, there is no real point in meassuring Lauryn Hill and her hypothetical return by "Lose Myself", just like it would have been pointless to have done that with "The Passion" in 2004.

Was the site updated when Lauryn Hill feautered "The Passion"? I don't think... I hope this means something good. Hopefully Columbia Records is interested in Lauryn Hill again.

The Lyrics are good but I think there is no real danger, that we will fall in love with this sound and be disapointed that the album will sound different.

I think this is where the future is! You can see continiously an increasing connection of really deep and meaningful lyrics with trashy, dance sounds and funk, jazz, reggae elements like on Lauryn Hills 2007 tour. Putting together the musical power of certain with deep lyrics was been demonstrated by people like gnarls barkley, amy whinehouse...so on. It will inspire talented people to do innovative things and express creative sounds. I am happy for this.

This could really be. If there would have been a fugees reunion, it would have been ten years after the score. Lauryn Hill initiatet the return of fugees in the first place and later decided to step back. 2008 then ten years after the first album, just like the new fugees album would have been ten years after the first. Who knows, she might really come back next year!
