Have a great day Oprah! When you have a limited understanding of world history, African history, American history, White Supremacy, & other things, you will continue to type the things you type. Unfortunate as that is, I cannot do anything about it and I am NOT going to spend anymore of my time on someone who does not recognize their own issues (and you have many) and I don't have the time to lay out how much of the information you typed is inaccurate in many ways. I will say this about the genetics bit, ancient genetic DNA is that of Africans who carried these haplogroups and subclades. It is not a recent flow of genetic material FROM modern mixed populations of West Asia as those populations did not even exist. Abel's BASE of music is American. He infuses traditional Ethiopian music, but the base of his music is Black American.
when translated FROM Greek TO English it means burnt face. Greek letters are different from the English alphabet system. GREEK: Αἰθιοπία. Again and I cannot state this enough, I don't need a history lesson. You're not bringing anything new to the table. I see you're one of the ones who think Ethiopians are mixed, that's all I needed to know. I'm American...does that make me different in racial connotation/association to others outside of America? Am I not of the same continental population group as those that reside in Africa? I have no issues with people stating what ethnic group they are. If you don't want to say you're American (which is really where this "I'm not Black" comes from), that's fine, but don't COME here to AMERICA and bring your ignorance about the world and White Supremacy. I'll let my Ethiopian friends in Ethiopia know they aren't Black. lol. NOOWWW I see who and what I am dealing with, not surprised...you're not even aware of it. Perhaps I shouldn't have stated things in absolute terms, as I do realize there are people like you.
' Black American's don't even own their culture, so what are you talking about? And the same culture you are so gladly projecting borrows from European elements such as European instruments, and if you really wanted to indulge, their is very little elements in African American culture thats remotely African at all. The only Blacks in the western world who maintained any elements of African culture are those from Latin America. And let's not act like Blacks in the western world have not appropriated culture from East Africa with your obsession of that Red, Green, and yellow. And Abels music highly borrows from Ethiopian music. '
^^All of this is distorted and inaccurate.
Again, good day. I will not be wasting my energy on you anymore. And please stop using 'projecting' all over the place; it looks silly.
In case you weren't aware:

In other parts of Africa (like Central Africa where I'm from), people don't even consider them like Africans because they are mixed with other ethnicities and some people feel they consider themselves superior to most of us

You guys are arguing in circles and insulting each other's cultures. It's kinda sad that it seems like the argument is really just a bunch of misunderstanding and different interperstions. Both of you are coming off condescending. No disrespect to either one of you A and Oprah. Y'all need to have conversation with peace and understanding. All this typing without trying to really hear the other person's view gets you absolutely no where . Much love

www.theverge.com/2016/2/15/11004664/grammys-2016-watch-weeknd-perform-cant-feel-my-faceI watched the performance and yes, Lauryn may have been a no show but I'm actually happy about that. The Weeknd is not an artist of her calibre and for her to perform with him just doesn't feel right. Has anyone perhaps thought that she may have not wanted to take away his limelight? It was the biggest night in his career and everyone would have been talking about her. I really feel as though after rehearsals, perhaps these thoughts may have come into Lauryn's headspace and she preferred to not go out there. If that was the truth, isn't it ironic that even though she didn't get on stage and perform, it's all about her and not the Weeknd anyway My last loopy idea on this. I think you may be right about not wanting to upstage Weeknd - maybe she even went further and helped him get getting him a longer slot on the Grammys and drawing people to the performance Please hug it out AinA and Oprah I love you both. Don't make me create a gif with weeknds head on little Kim from her how many licks video

Did anyone see Adele's interview on Ellen? Basically, there was a technical issue, which resulted in sound issues during her performance. She was really upper and stated that if it was her own live show she would've walked off stage. Interesting. www.facebook.com/ellentv/videos/10154116402877240/

We have now seen a video clip of her backstage and dressed to perform. I don't think she was trying to help the Weeknd by leaving him hanging at the last minute. She was just late.

I just think there is a lot of misunderstanding between brothers and sisters from Africa and from America on many things and it has a lot to do with divide and conquer tactics that have been used against us and we end up at each other's throats because we are in defense mode. So I apologize for my part because I could've did some things differently. I just want to let you know, that when I was coming at Abel, it had nothing to do with him being Ethiopian. Much love

All this talk about The Weeknd has made me appreciate some of his music now. He's performing live on Jimmy Fallon tonight in LA for those interested.
