Wyclef Making Music Video To Promote Aid For Haiti03.30.2004 His record company is still working the video for "Take Me as I Am," but Wyclef Jean can't wait any longer to promote his crusade for crisis relief in Haiti with a brand new clip. So he's stepping outside of the reins of his label and shooting a political clip on his own. Jean, who was born in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti, will foot the bill for a video medley of "Next Generation" and "Party by the Sea," to be shot next week in the Little Haiti section of Miami. The shoot was originally lined up for last week, but scheduling conflicts forced its delay, a label spokesperson said. The video, which will feature Scarface, Buju Banton and Haitians T-Vice, will attempt to realistically depict the conflicts plaguing the Caribbean country, according to a source at Jean's management company. Jean hopes to use the video as a tool to convince nations to provide financial support for Haiti. The country has been rocked by political insurgency, which resulted in Haiti's elected president, Jean-Bertrand Aristide, fleeing the country on February 29. After the video shoot, Wyclef will hold a press conference to announce a new Haiti fund-raising program. source: mtv.com www.mtv.com/news/articles/1486071/20040330/story.jhtml
