This was her last stop on the small Axe tour. I had a chance to check out two shows one in NYC and here in Philly and they both where REALLY great...Yes, she was very late...but made up for it with her music.

Likewise, I also attended the last "Small Axe" show in Philly on March 28th.
I don't know how I will be able to reduce the experience I had in words, but I will give it a try.
The show was scheduled to start at 9.00pm. However, because I had been to numerous Lauryn Hill shows, I knew to give myself at least an hour and a half before arriving. That strategy worked out as she came on stage somewhere around 11:15. When she arrived on stage, some bold person screamed from the audience, "Why are you so late?" Lauryn answered, "Because I was getting ready for you." Many of the people around where I was seated, applauded after her response as if to let her know all was forgiven. Side note: Folks who still get annoyed by her tardiness are obviously new fans who have never been to a Lauryn Hill show. I've come to accept the fact that she is going to be late. For me, its not a deal breaker.
For over the next two hours, Lauryn and her band delivered one of the best sets I've ever witnessed. Many people have already pointed out the extensive set list of songs, which was pretty much the same as those other shows. However, on this night it seemed that the songs were performed outside the constraints of boundaries, time, and protocol. Many of the songs had elongated endings and were improvised similar to a jazz set. The icing on the cake for me was the fact that Lauryn appeared to be having a great time on stage. While she still directed every move, while playing guitar herself, there were many smiles and nods of approval from her to the band throughout the night.
She performed almost every track from the unplugged CD and many others. I didn't see her drink a sip of water during the entire set. She and her band really gave us everything on stage. There were too many highlights from the night to talk about them all, but some of my personal favorites were Freedom Time, Peace of Mind, Mystery of Inequity; The entire Fugees Set, and a soul-wrenching performance of I Get Out. As a music lover, I attend a lot of concerts and can say that the experience I had last Saturday night is beyond compare. There was a synergy not only on stage but in the audience as well. Many of the people attending Lauryn Hill concerts also thirst for conscious good music and you could feel the love from all angles of the arena. Congrats to her band for a job well done. I'm looking forward to the next tour and new music. Hopefully, we won't have to wait too long on both.

Here's another video from the show I went to in Nyc at the Highline Ballroom...she really went IN towards the end of this performance she had almost everyone on their feet! I also went to the VIP meet & greet after this show. I meet her many of times, but I never asked her about new music because I always forget lol..so I felt the need to do so this time around. She told me A new album is in the works and is coming very VERY soon. And she's also aware of this site as well lol youtu.be/bInDiP3xBXE

YEAH,,,,YOU "NEW FANS" REALLY NEED TO CHILL OUT WITH YA'LL EXPECTATIONS OF OTHER PEOPLE. TRUE LAURYN FAN'S KNOW WHAT THE DEAL IS. I HAVE WAITED IN THE HOT SUN FOR HOURS FOR LAURYN AND I'LL DO IT AGAIN AT THE DROP OF A DIME, BECAUSE I LOVE HER; SHE CHANGED MY LIFE; AND I WANT TO HAVE A GOOD SPOT AS CLOSE TO THE STAGE AS POSSIBLE......I THINK ALL THE PSEUDO-LAURYN FAN'S SHOULD JUST STAY HOME AND REPLY MISEDUCATION AND UNPLUGGED OVER AND OVER.

She prob doesn't frequent the site a lot though, especially with all the responsibility she has. It's great to see her interacting more with the ppl. I truly hope she's happy in life now. Thank you for replying. She has to know she's loved dearly by many. The game needs her, her folks need her. These kids these days smh, makes me not want any lol.
