We all are undecided wether "Lose Myself" is the beginning of Ms Lauryn Hills Return or not, eventhough we now know that on here official homepage, run by columbia record, a return is implied.
I was wondering, when did Lauryn Hill perform the last time an acoustic set wtih guitar only? I think it was "I had to walk" in Japan, but it looks like, she doesn't perform the "Unplugged" and "Post-Unplugged" songs anymore, like she used to in 2004 and 2005. She rather performes MisEd-Material and Bob Marley Covers and doesn't play so much guitar anymore.
Also the fact then she is smiling and laughing now a lot on stange, when she was all serious a few years ago. Maybe there is a new state of mind. "I had to wak" and "Lose Myself" have a similar message, they both describe a process. But "Lose Myself" goes a step further, cause it's not only about the "Walk", but also about the return. That is why it could give us hope.
Do you also see some changes?

well, i see changes too... i wanted to talk about that with you guys... cause im a little concerned about that... because i dont know if this changes are good or bad... maybe with all the pressure of being "normal" again she gave up on it... what i mean by normal is not think too much, not say too much... i say that because i notice on the show i attended that she performed only the songs that everybody knew and guarding the gates and i had to walk... and what about all that songs that talked about freedom and that they have many things to say... and she was all dressed up (it wasn't matching but i think she tried) and she said on unplugged that she was tired of dressing up for us... don't get me wrong i'd love to see Lauryns return but i would be very desapointed if she dropped all the rebel point of view, i mean, i grew up listening to that and she tought me how to think... i hope i'm wrong... i hope she is finding a way back up so she can spread her message to more people... what yall think about that??

I get what you're saying Denise. I feel like she realized that Unplugged wasn't welcome by the mainstream public. So she's trying to "dress it up" again. For example "lose myself" could have been so much better if it was acoustic or reggae. She would look so much better if she didnt wear all those clothes and makeup, etc... I dont know

I think she may be saving some of that material for her album. She may not perform all of the songs we have heard live over the years, but I think we will her some of them again. I can't imagine her not putting out the powerful messages we have heard over the years. She did say a lot of the music was transitional; therefore, I do think the music will probably have a different tone.

I don't think the Rebel in Lauryn Hill is going to die. Eventhough "Lose Myself" is not a unplugged-style guitar song, the lyrics are honest and real. And this is a OST anyway. But I really don't believe, that the post-unplugged songs will ever be released. I think they are the songs Lauryn Hill "can't sit on" and needed for her "transition". Maybe "My Love" and "I had to walk", but I would be really suprised if we would ever see songs like "Damnable Heresies", "Chains" or "Since I found a new Love" on a studio album. And also "The Passion", "Selah" and "Lose Myself" have been released on CDs, they wont be on any Album. She was hurt after the MisEd which caused Lauryn Unplugged and then was hurt again by the response to her Unplugged which caused Ms. Hill. I personaly think she is gone beyond that post-unplugged state, where she was really serious about everything and is at a new place now. Her shows still start late, but now she is smiling. Do we even know if she is still "Ms. Hill", the enigmatic Diva whose behaivor was discussed highly on messages boards in 2005? I think she looks happier today. Maybe she did finally make peace.

Well, I have already told you guys my prediction already. That is, the album will be very much in the vain of MisEd with some Unplugged moments fused in. And, it will still be hiphop...why? Cause Lauryn IS hiphop. It will be the fastest selling female album in history AGAIN, and it will go straight to number 1, AGAIN. LOL. Period.
Now, Lauryn will not have to do much.. Her fans will do it for her. She has a lot of LIVE recordings. Columbia will use those as well as their own traditional means of promotion which will include and not limited to advance technology, etc.
Lauryn will not be the same 23 year old of MisED. She will continue to keep her distance from the spotlight, but her album will still top the charts.
There!
P.S. I have been to quite a few concerts in the MLK Series. Infact, last year, I wrote to the Borough President regarding a Fugees performance this summer. I guess writing does help. I didnt get The Fugees, instead I got the single, best gift ever- Ms. Hill. What a blessing! But who knows..........maybe the surprise guests might be Pras and Clef? Hmmmm......

She's looking better on stage and she sounds srtonger in her vocals. In life, the way you act and the way you talk is reflected on your personal life and experiences you've had. Lauryn has a lot of baggage from what he has experienced in the past. We need to give her space and expect that she will make mistakes. I personally don't care whether or not she moves away from the Unplugged style of music or not, baecause whatever she does is brilliant. I certainly feel there is a change in her attitude and that shows in her lyrics and music. I would love to hear an album with all different kinds of music styles...but the songs released will normally be mainstream type.
