We know for sure she signed a new contract, so she is legally obligated to release something. According to her keyboard player, they are recording now in NYC! http://instagram.com/p/mnwzbqjzzR

Yeah...I didn't hear the song, but I heard it happened. *sigh* LOL
And Drake sampled "Doo Wop". That song is trash. The producer made that beat in 3 minutes. I have an MPC. It was that easy, I promise! Prior to this wackness, I lost respect for him for saying he was the best to ever rap and sing. Nucca can't even sing. His rapping is ok, at best. Meh.

Hope she comes to london ! Missed the last show here. Not too hopeful for a new album though 2bh, she's been on tour for last 4 years Skepticism...Ms. Hill, do you see what you've done to us! LOL! I feel you Segun, but there is documented proof that she signed a new deal with Sony as well as musicians working in the studio with her (with pics) as recently as last week. Plus her tour schedule for the next several months is VERY hectic, much unlike the sporadic appearances we were seeing over the last decade!

Anon, I agree that separatism is what we need as a people...why I live where I live, shop where I shop, my husband and I send our children to certain schools! This NEEDS to be done to recenter and redefine ourselves after the trauma of having our very identity ripped from us collectively. Segregation was the WORST mistake Black Americans made in the last 100 years! We were on the road to recovery rebuilding our communities without government interferrence (which they ans many ild negroes call help)!
That said, I don't believe that all experiences are exactly the same...but the emotions we feel as a result and the compassion we can give to other humans CAN BE the same (if that make sense). I don't compare oppressive experiences, as it is often counter productive. BM vs BW is my least favorite. I don't really know how it feels to be a Black man; my husband doesn't really know how it feels to be a Black woman. We can share common emotions and comfort and sympathise with one another still. All I'm saying.
Joseph Campell said Intelligence is defined as seeing and comprehending the similarities and between phenomenon that appear to be different .

Also her background singers: Tanikka Cherrae and Tara Harrison on IG and/or Twitter ;-) the 3rd singer is one woman or another (whose names Both escape me right now)! I will post them when I remember if no one beats me to it!

YAAAAAASSSS!!!!
A LOT of shows coming this summer!
She will be in DC doing SOMETHING (performing, sitting in on a panel discussion?) for "Rock Like A Girl" . Her homie Nas will be performing at the Kennedy Center as well. The next 3 weeks are all about hip-hop in DC. I am trying to be a responsible grown up and not call off of work but um....lol

Please remember that a government very often does NOT represent the people...esecially the kind of peoe who would want to attend a Ms. Lauryn Hill concert! She mentions making Salat and speaks Arabic at the intro to a song. This may offend the government, but the people...
I HATE many American government policies. I never got to see Nina Simone perform, mostly because she hated coming to the US!
Personally, I don't see the point in boycotting a region of the Earth unless not performing there is actually going to influence the government's behavior! The thing is, with oppressive gov'ts, the people's feeling matter not at all! IF an artist is able to perform in a place where people are oppressed or have extreme views forced upon them, in my opinion, they DEFINITELYshould! That way, they can uplift and inspire them! People in some places need a positive message of universal love so desperately! Jesus walked amongst the sinners...ijs

I am literally crying with laughter!!! That was HORRIBLE!!! BWAHAA!!! PSA's are imvarianly cheesy and directed by old people who try too hard to be "hip". Aww man. Lauryn's character had a beeper and a drug dealer boyfriend! Classic!
Thanks for sharing that! LOL!

Anon: working class people all over the world can relate to various aspects of the struggle that Africans in America have experienced and continue to endure! Many folks are poor & disenfranchised, and a part of an underclass because of the power hunger and imperialism if some group more organized than their own!
Seperation is the biggest and most effective tool used to distract us for unification against the elite!

True, Apolonio....remember EVERYTHING in America has racist roots! The land was stolen and then people were stolen to build it up! Most companies still have to be FORCED by the government to hire non whites and women of all races! Sad, but true.

.....or maybe she knows the anti homosexual sentiment in the popular versions of the bible was written in to encourage procreation in a society where birth rates struggled and life spans were shorter. I'm sleep though...
