I think this a fairly new interview. It is with some guy by the name of Malik Shaheed. Wyclef discusses the status of the Fugees.

I wonder if the problem really is with Lauryn being difficult or is Mr Wyclef starting to show his true colors. He seems to not want to value Ms Hill's opinions. He wants things to be the way they were in the past. If that is the case I don't see this project happening. I think those days are over were Ms Hill submits her will to him.

haha oh wow well first off, I knew Wyclef had a big EGO but wow!
when he said "Hips don't lie was the biggest song in 100years" woah simply ridiculous.
Don't get me wrong I'm a Wyclef fan but man saying that means a lot about his Ego
And yeah I agree well to quote him, it seems like only HE knows the fugees formula, as if Lauryn and Pras couldn't put in their ideas, he basically wants to do it like they used to 10yrs ago, (when he had 100% control)..
so yeah of course we don't know what's going on inside the Fugees group and I hate to speculate but man I'd hate to be working with someone with a HUGE ego like this (not only with a big EGO but someone who pretends he's the only person to know the group's magic formula)
Thanks for the interview though it gives an interesting perspective on what's going on with the group

i hope this interview was recorded back in 2006, because wyclef says that his new album will be released next year. so, hopefully he was talking about the year 2007. it would be great to get new stuff this summer.
and please don't critisize clef's ego this much. he needs to be an ego if he wants to make music. that's th business..

No comments. If I have nothing good to say. I'd rather keep my mouth shut. y'all already know how I feel.

It's not nice of him to talk like that about the group! ...he rules the fugees.....otherwise there is no fugees at all......then f**k him with his DISTORTED perseption! it's a group and each of them has rights to be creative and to make changes if at least one of them doesn't like smth......

When I said that I agreed with what he said about the fugees I meant that I think that each should have their own vision without erasing what the true fugees formula is. Lauryn's musical developement fits her solo songs, but I don't think they would be good for a fugees album. HOWEVER, I think that he shouldn't be saying " I'm the one who knows the fugees formula !!!". What the hell is he talking about ? He's talking as if he's the only one who contributed to the success of the frkn group. But hey, that's why I can't stand him.

Did Clef forget about 'Killing Me Softly'. That song was a worldwide hit...and bigger than 'Hips don't lie'. My 28 year old sister said that that song was on every radio station all over the world at the time. I reckon Clef hated the fact that Lauryn was the main reason for the success. Is Clef drinking too much or did he just say that Shakira was a part of one of the best songs in the century. Let me just say this...the whole formula thing sounds like Clef used to always be the one who finalised beats, but now Pras and Lauryn (more Lauryn) are more experienced and they want to finalise beats as well. They can't compromise on a song, so Clef is like lets just leave it at the score, and he's right. Let no one duplicate that. Where Lauryn is now is like she won't let anyone do something she's not fully comfortable with. They both are creative and want people to see it, but Lauryn won't sit back anymore and let Clef do everything and take all the credit. And that was the reason why she created miseducation, so people knew her genious and stop crediting Clef for everything. It sounded like he wanted to be the boss even 10 years later...it's a group not solo, you have to work together which they can't do. On a good note I can't wait for the 911 part 2, and the album cause it's gonna be massive.
