Get ready, Texas: here comes Lauryn Hill! She will leave her fans ‘Feeling Good’ after a rare television appearance on the legendary ‘Austin City Limits.’ Get all the details on when you can expect Ms. Hill to light up the Lone Star state — and your TV!
Chances to see Lauryn Hill, 40, perform — both live and on television — are few and far between. The hip-hop icon tends to keep a low profile, so it’s big news that Lauryn’s recording a rare broadcast concert! The ex-Fugees superstar will help keep Austin weird when she heads down to Texas for a taping of Austin City Limits.
Lauryn will make her ACL debut on Nov. 7, according to the long-running music program. This is a chance for fans to see Lauryn play her classic hits in front of a camera, as well as possibly one of the six songs she recorded for Nina Revisited: A Tribute to Nina Simone. Those in the Austin area can head over to the show’s website to get tickets.
This television concert will follow Lauryn’s July 30 performance on The Tonight Show. During this appearance, she sang Nina’s “Feeling Good” to an absolutely stunned audience. After all these years, Lauryn still has her amazing voice and it was clearly on display that night.
Her voice will also rock Austin’s Fun Fun Fun Fest. Not only will Lauryn record an ACL performance, but she’ll also headline the music festival. Ms. Hill is stepping in to take over for a sick D’Angelo, according to XXL. D’Angelo and his band, The Vanguard, were scheduled to play the festival’s Orange Stage on Nov. 8, but he had to cancel due to an illness. Bummer! Thankfully, Lauryn is here to save the day. Maybe Lauryn thought that after D’Angelo guested on her song, “Nothing Even Matters,” on her Miseducation of Lauryn Hill record, she owed him a favor?
