Is it Sabotage or Indifference.
Ms. Hill performed at the mountain Winery in Sarasota Calif. on Wednesday night. The show was a sellout with a seating capacity of 2500. However, fans were upset that Ms. Hill started the show at 930 PM and there was a curfew in place for 10:30 PM. Therefore Ms. Hill was once again cut off before she finished the concert.
Now Ms. Hill has stated earlier that she could start her shows on time but it is the power(s) that be that prevent such an occurrence. I keep thinking, if this is true, how does one prepare for a show when you already know that you are going to be late and perhaps even cut off? On the other hand I think is there no one on Ms. Hill staff that knows the curfews of these venues they are playing to inform Ms. Hill the time she needs to be on stage to avoid this interruption?
What would eventually happen to the performer if this keeps happening? Mentally how do you deal with angry fans who complained that they paid good money to see you perform only to be frustrated with tardiness, tempo, and no apology in sight? I am betting that the people would blame Ms. Hill as her history of tardiness has been well documented; and there have been many reasons for tempo change as well…everything from her weariness of having to perform these songs like the album to -Ms. Hill doesn’t legally own the rights to the music (just lyrics) of these songs.
As humans when we see something happen long enough, we are inclined to believe the message/imagery. This industry is also known to damage your reputation to the point that public opinion becomes low and it destroys the artist and their ability to perform their craft; thus diminishing their resources. Dave Chappelle, katt Williams, and Michael Jackson comes to mind. Can this be compared to the slave that run away and when caught is usually hung to prevent other slaves from attempting such feat?
What are they running from though? I remember Dave Chappelle talking about his refusal to wear a dress in a movie. The producer told him it would be so funny. He told him that he was funny without the dress. Well, now we know what that was about. Compromising one’s integrity to influence the masses that cross dressing etc. was okay. Look Dave Chappelle, Jamie Fox, Wesly Snipes, Tyler Perry, Flip Wilson, Bob Hope etc. have done it…So…..
So is it true that when you sign that contract you have given yourself over to them lock, stock and barrel to do what they like, when they like, and how long they like. I’ve notice that Ms. Hill has begin to wear a lot of sheer outfits that expose a lot of flesh, clothing that promote unisex apparel, one shirt had a marijuana plant on it. Now what is next? Who will be influence next???
Ms. Hill next concerts will be in Japan in as much as Sony owns RCA and Sony I wonder will these shows start on time? Well I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
