I think faith - personal faith - is often confused with adherence which may well be blind. As a thought experiment let's consider the story of Jesus feeding the 5000. The literal interpretation would be that from a few loaves and fishes Jesus was able by virtue of a miracle to feed 5000 people. That to me is pretty awesome, but sadly portrays Jesus as able to perform actions beyond those that any of us can do What to me would be more awesome and no less of a miracle is that is by sharing the little he had he encouraged others in that crowd to do the same. Food back then was likely far more of a scarce resource than it is for many of us living in economically developed countries today. It was literally the thing that would keep you alive till next week and viewed in such a context encouraging sharing of such a vital resource is an incredible feat. Of course it is also possible to accept both interpretations as true or both as false or some mix between. (Strangely the quote "The devil is in the detail" springs to mind regarding sects and denominations. ) The above is a feat any of us could potentially perform, a feat we do everyday on a small scale when we teach our children to share, to be generous with their time and their wealth. What you all think ? Feel ?

We all interpret song lyrics differently, so I will share what I think this song means to me. Perhaps, it's a song about a woman loving something and someone so much that it consumed her completely. She gave herself wholeheartedly to love and a relationship, compromising and sacrificing continuously and in return, slowly losing herself in the process. She loved unconditionally in the relationship but she did not get the same in return. Instead, she was told that she was not enough or that no matter how good things were going, it was never going to work. She would do it all again because so many wonderful memories were made, and because it has made her realise her own inner strength. I definitely agree with that. Lyrics often have dual meaning intentionally to reach a larger audience. However, whenever someone consumes you; you lose the essence of who you are. Now, they control your thoughts, feelings, well-being which often places you in a vulnerable state, naked and exposed totally at their mercy. Sometimes this happen when a person is in love with the idea of love. These preconceived notions are often influenced by past experiences which leads one to make assumptions that aren't necessary true. Further, I think it only compromising when it's give and take, but this did not appear to be the case. She was always giving and not receive anything in return. So I am still undecided about "wonderful memories" when you were in love all by yourself. . Also, I think it lead her to place a guard around her heart to avoid being hurt that deeply again; thus, making it hard to receive love that is indeed genuine, due to past hurts. Finally, despair made her seek out another source for strength and restoration. Like Whitney said, "Who on earth can I run to?" "I Look to You." After all of the pain that this has cost. if there isn't transformation in the seeking of the higher source, this person tends to be attracted to the same type of person; self centered, lover of self, and insensitive to the needs of another. It's like a magnet. Others may pursue but the attraction will not be there. Oftentimes than not, they go back to the author of their pain and become a prisoner of their own will. Familiar Spirits.

It Takes Strength To Absorb All The Abuse I Did Greater Love To Absorb All Of The Abuse I Did Hey Baby Its Not An Excuse I Did And I'd Do It All Again Because For You I Live
I have often seen identity crisis with those that have been molested or have some type of sexual abuse that cause them to go deep within themselves and oftentimes another personality is created because the pain of the abuse is too much to deal with. Causing split personalities or creating a person that is acceptable for mass consumption. However other victims of this type of abuse usually recognize this kindred spirit and attached themselves to that spirit and it makes for pain on top of pain being replayed over and over again.
This would result in a teaching that most would not believe like the man in the tomb who slept there and had so many spirits they called themselves Legion for we are many. He was out of his mind; cutting himself; sleeping in the graveyard, restless, and most miserable...but Jesus!!!!!
