OMG ))))) Lauryn Singing To Zion with her guitar i hop video youtube and ihop singing Ex Factor i hopppppp <3 I'm really praying that the person who's recorded all of her DC shows was at this performance and recorded this one because she sounds SPECTACULAR!! I can't even believe that she did so many Unplugged songs. It's all I ever wanted. I really just want to hear what those songs would sound like with a full band. I'm so excited and proud of her for this amazing work.

I guess I'm a little bias mainly because to have watch the video of her unplugged performance, there was something about the whole performance that had nothing to do with a band, but issues of the heart She was searching for heart issues and genuinely sincere. Her exchange with the audience was an extension, sort of "keeping it real" type of atmosphere, like she said in one of the dialogue, the real you is better than the fake someone else (something to that effect). She appeared to feel the rhythm in her soul. The ad lib with the band, in my opinion, takes away the mood of the tunes, the melodies just don't sound right to me. Then again, when you are in a different place, I guess it fair to say everything will be marching to a different beat including the voice.

Yeah, the problem with that is that is the same excuse that people use whenever she performs awesome arrangements of Miseducation songs. It's holding onto a memory, a feeling that you had when you heard the original and is not allowing the artist to grow and evolve because you want them to recreate the moment that was once in a lifetime. Listen to the album, get your fill and then catch up to where the artist is now...or don't. But it's not her fault that you're missing the amazing work that she's doing now because you want her to recreate an experience from a decade ago.

I beg the difference, it isn't so much as to holding onto the same arrangement. It was the voice and heart felt expressions. However, I have a right to voice whether I like an arrangement or not because it what pleasant to my ear. Most of you who keep telling people how to adjust their hearing or with this arrogant tone or don't as if the artist is just performing for the joy of it. It about being paid for what you do and yes the buyer has a right to expect the merchandise in the manner they order it or take it back. I don't have to catch up or let some one shove something down my throat and say take it or leave it. It not that serious, it not like I can't do without it. Please stop this none-sense about get with it or don't;if the public start taking you up on this and prices drop, I guarantee you Pride and genius will get with the program; you as good as the people who pay for what you do. that was nice won't pay bills and we all have them!!! Don't get it twisted, both of us must get something out of this in order for it to be entertainment. keep it real bruh!

Don't get it twisted, both of us must get something out of this in order for it to be entertainment. keep it real bruh! I believe that's the intention over all. The intention is that whoever likes the music as is will stick around and enjoy it and those who don't can willfully leave. It's not about always appeasing someone's every want. You can call it arrogance if you wish, but it's the truth. That's exactly why she's performing in smaller venues. Those who care for the material will be drawn to her current passion for the music. It's not like the material is shoddily thrown together. It has passion and intention. Some will feel it and some won't. But expecting someone to perform the material exactly how they hear it from a decade ago is not realistic for a true artist--commerce or not. I've seen many an artist kowtow to random fan's demands to perform the songs exactly as is and you see the artist grow to HATE the material and subsequently hate performing because of it. We'll just have to agree to disagree, I guess.

How about we keep it real and just state you don't like change, so because you don't like change that doesn't mean it's any less heartfelt. And just because you don't like the arrangement doesn't mean others will agree and if you happen to fall off, that also doesn't mean others will. Your comment imo just tells me you truly haven't listened to her work.

Artists evolves all the time that why they continue to create music as their inspiration is expanded. Michael Jackson is a perfect example of this Thriller album was one inspired work Billie Jean was another as well as his smooth criminal. These are classics and you don't change what has already been etched in time because that what made it great the arrangement and delivery. Can you imagine Thriller being done like reggae or rock metal, or with music that distort Michael's voice No!
Now new materials will allow the audience to determine if they are willing to invest in this new inspiration, if not it will be artistic expressions, but demand for it shows otherwise. Usually such material become consumerable once the artist is off the scene and no further music will be produced.

Can we just have a moment for Ms Hill's new arrangments. This is the best I've heard her in like 10 years. The melodies, the instruments, the sound, wow. Just wow. Can someone upload or record one of these concerts in full. Mr Intentional, Oh Jerusalem, I remember, Just Like Water, the list goes on sound absolutely incredible. I wonder whether these are the actual recorded versions of the songs. Hopefully we find out very soon!
