This is so strange. When everyone was writing what they think Ms Hill's response should be to Ferguson I thought she should put out black rage as her response. When she originally performed it, I feel like it wasn't fully embraced. It was like here she goes again, angry black woman complaining about about racial issues. And look what's happened now. We all know she could write a whole essay about what's happening in Ferguson right now, but all she said was 'strange, the course of things' like to say I've been trying to get you to wake up for a long time, but you didn't want to listen. Of course we are fans of Ms Hill, but there are a lot of people who would have originally heard that song a year ago and thought it was 'extreme,' I bet they would feel differently about it now! It's unfortunate that a tragedy has to happen for people to open their ears to a song like this!

I'm happy to hear her singing again, even if it is a demo. Her voice is still very smooth and for me that really helps the words resonate.

Lauryn is lightyears ahead in her art and expression, almost prophetic. She truly has a way of speaking to the heart. Its a shame that it took a tragedy for her message to get across but maybe the world might be ready to hear the 'new' Lauryn. The reviews are really good

What a good surprise ... It's obviously a demo, and it's a good demo. A part of french press relate this release, and the reactions are good. The french press also relate what is the sample used in it: Favorite Things www.youtube.com/watch?v=33o32C0ogVM

I love the direction she took with this "sketch." Though I loved her previous version as well, this version allows you to hear the words so she doesn't have to explain what she just said to you at the end. lol That said, this song was just an awesome concept in general.
The subject would've been too much for a lot of people had they heard it at any other time though.

What I find amazing is that the arrangement that she envisioned is exactly what's on that ROUGH sketch/demo! That goes to show you that she's not playing about making sure that she ALONE is writing her music and not letting anyone claim that they created it. Listen to the last few performances of Black Rage and then listen to the demo and you can hear it's exactly what she wanted. She's just cooking up things in the lab! I'm so excited for this to be recorded finally!! mymajesticpage.blogspot.com/2012/11/ms-lauryn-hill-black-rage-unreleased.html
