Lauryn Hill Featured in ROCK! LIKE A GIRL at the Kennedy Center Lauryn Hill will be among the performers at the first ROCK! LIKE A GIRL concert at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. The event on April 5, which will also feature a discussion segment, will highlight women’s contributions to hip-hop. Other artists performing include MC Lyte and Grammy Award winning violinist Miri Ben-Ari. ROCK! LIKE A GIRL is being produced by Beverly Bond, who created Black Girls Rock! She will also serve as the DJ for the event. “I’m extremely excited to launch ROCK! LIKE A GIRL at the Kennedy Center and curate this dynamic show featuring these superb, inspirational and innovative artists," Bond says. "This festival illustrates the diversity, creativity and the global cultural capital of hip-hop music.” The event is in partnership with the Kennedy Center’s One Mic: Hip-Hop Festival. www.mymix1061.com/common/more.php?m=58&ts=1394898641&article=AA3F8BC8ABAB11E3B51EFEFDADE6840A&mode=2April 5 is relatively soon ! hope news about album before the beginning of this festivals and events tour. If she starts this tour without gives informations about album, it will be a very bad sign ... looks like I open a Pandora's box with discuss about racist origin of this university. After reflection, sh's christian, a universalist religion with forgiveness as central element. It's normal to her to sing in this.

New concert announced
Ms. Lauryn Hill to Perform at the Bryce Jordan Center
Grammy-winning R&B singer and former Fugees member Ms. Lauryn Hill will perform at the Bryce Jordan Center on Sunday, May 4 at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices currently range from $47.50 to $85 and will go on sale this Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 10 a.m.
Hill rose to fame as the female vocalist for 90s hip hop group The Fugees, known best for their 1996 Grammy-winning album The Score and their hit single “Killing Me Softly.” After the group disbanded in 1997, Hill began a solo career in 1998 by releasing The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, which was recorded at Tuff Gong Studios and featured guest appearances by Carlos Santana, Mary J. Blige, and John Legend. Three singles emerged from this album: “Doo Wop (That Thing),” “Ex-Factor” and “Everything is Everything.”
For her work on The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, Hill took home five Grammys in 1999, including Best New Artist and Album of the Year. In 2002, she released new songs on an MTV Unplugged album, which reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200.
Since she began recording her solo album, Hill has had six children — five with Bob Marley’s son, Rohan Marley. Recently, she began her comeback tour last year and even released a new single, “Consumerism.”
Can we make a list of concerts ? I'm lost ^^

I read that the Bryce Jordan Center seats about 16000. Do you think she is going to sell out the entire venue or only have about 3000 tickets available like she did for the Mohegan Sun in 2011?

Awesome, she's beefing up her touring a bit. Glad to see she's participating in Rock! Like a Girl! Too bad she won't be on the panel though, that would've been a great addition.
uuggh I wait with impatience!! lol

True, Apolonio....remember EVERYTHING in America has racist roots! The land was stolen and then people were stolen to build it up! Most companies still have to be FORCED by the government to hire non whites and women of all races! Sad, but true.

Some new concerts announced... August 09: Count Basie Theatre, Red Bank, NJ And especially, because i'm french: September 03, Zenith of Paris: www.sortiraparis.com/scenes/concert-musique/articles/71842-ms-lauryn-hill-en-concert-unique-au-zenith-de-paris-en-septembre-2014I don't think I will go see her but welcome back in France Ms Hill Little note: In 2012, when she came in Paris, she performed in the Olympia, with a capacity of 1800 seats approximately. In september, she will perform in Olympia, with a capacity of more than 6000 seats. Edit: does anyone noticed that on Ms Hill facebook, for a Melbourne concert, they used "Homecoming series" on the poster ? (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=816178471743170&set=pb.611430335551319.-2207520000.1398259739.&type=3&theater) Just hope the setlist will change compared to the end 2013 concerts... New festival announced: in France, Couvre Feu Festival, August 22, just before another festival in Spain. Notice the price: 23 or 24€ for a place the day she come. See Lauryn with a little price like that, it's unique! Source: www.nantes.maville.com/actu/actudet_-festival-couvre-feu-lauryn-hill-en-tete-d-affiche_fil-2538361_actu.Htm?xtor=RSS-4&utm_source=RSS_MVI_nantes&utm_medium=RSS&utm_campaign=RSSIt makes me laugh: she will perform in a festival which take place in a small village: 2700 inhabitants LOL I don't know the other artists of the programmation, except one: Casseurs Flowteurs band. It's a rap band which has a current success (by success, in French, it's 50 000 albums sold lol) and well-known because one of the 2 members is Orelsan, one of the french rappers who sell the most. Here is two songs of Casseurs Flowteurs band and Orelsan: But it's not a "listen to the words" rap like Lauryn: it's commercial rap with no means. They talk about love, sex, alcohol, life, growth, etc; This was the french rap minute, thank you dear americans lol
