I just wish people would stop labeling Ms Hill as this MILITANT black woman Ms Hill is a proud intelligent woman who care about injustice in the world. I happen to know the Hill family and my nieces and nephews are very close to her children. I am a Jewish man and her kids have all been to my family bar mitzvahs and Ms Hill happen to be very close to actor Zach Braff who grew up in our community. She is someone very proud of her culture and i wish people would stop being afraid of that if she speaking out about prejudices that go on in the music industry i am glad she's bringing it to the forefront ! I love and respect this woman and her family.

you're right to underline this fact letsbringitback. But I think the majority of the people here are intelligent people who understand Lauryn Hill's message (fight FOR freedom, justice, and social and spiritual awareness / AGAINST social conformity and to quote Bob Marley "spiritual wickedness in high and low places") and do not have a simplistic view of what she represents. Actually This community is most likely the hearth of her supporters base worldwide.
However while you know her and I don't, I do not see how considering someone as a militant is a bad thing. To me she is an artist and activist who is a also a Black woman and is a voice for people like me who share her ideas, what is wrong with that?
However if you meant to warn us not have a caricatural idea of what she is, I agree, but I think most people are aware that she is not a racist or hateful person but the total opposite. There is actually a link adressing the Howard Stern rumors so this is not even an issue on this board.
Thank you for your insight though.
Peace

There are allot of people out there (not on this site) who to this day still label her as this racist person and it hurts me to hear those comments. I am proud of her for exposing the industry for what it is but at the same time i know its a powerful machine and they will do anything to silence her i just want people to know that we really have to stand strong behind her .

The Black Rage thing is explosive and thought provoking for sure - but at no point do I think Lauryn Hill is an Illuminati slave or calling for blacks to kill whites!
If you think that then you haven't been listening.
As Bob said 'I'm not on the side of the black man or on the side of the white man, I'm on God's side' (or something to that effect) All Lauryn has been talking and singing about is LOVE and TRUTH. The Illuminati and the system deal in the complete opposite.
Tell a man by his fruits.
So exciting it is! Powerful words
Love x

Myopian, wth are you smoking!!! Lmaooo! Scary thing is....many if your facts are, in isolation, correct....but you go waaay off the deep end with the conclusions! Are you a preacher perhaps? lol Someone would buy your shit! The date is no coincidence. She's smart! Read her statement. No advocating violence....advocating thought. She understands race us an over simplification of evil! i know you sed read her statement; and i honestly (outside her religious bible views which i can't even believe she takes seriously with her obvious awareness/intelligence), never heard a word this woman said that did not sound like my own thoughts on echo. dead-ass that is how much i agree with her: damn near EVERYTHING she sez resonates with me and has for as long as i've been listening; but i also know a slogan is a powerful SUGGESTION. e.g. illuminati/barack obama be SAYING all the right thing 100% of the time, but still go and push buttons on innocent people's lives. yep. he does. all presidents do. illuminati talk one way and move the opposite. that's WTF they do: the opposite of their words. it's why we're fools and they rules. cuz we believe them every time. so as agreeable as Ms. Hill's words are, the slogan "black rage" IMMEDIATELY launched Colin Ferguson in my mind. and i aint the only one. it's the very first google link, and before yesterday probly woulda been a higher % of immediate views. now a lot of the images for it are nas/ms. hill i wonder what they were a day ago? probly colin ferguson. i know lauryn was aware of that sh*t, so she knows the images she's bringing forth! i'm just saying i disagree, and think a lot of her behavior is suspicious: so this on top of her suspicious past, is startling. i gotta wonder. of course i don't in my heart believe she under mind control. that's almost IMPOSSIBLE for me to resolve. but she abounds herself in stripes which i hear is mind control apparel. i'm just pointing it out. putting pieces together. a lot of dreadful scenarios are unthinkable until they happen. Lauryn Hill being a mind controlled pawn, used to incite a race war for NWO martial law happens to be one of those unthinkable scenarios. i aint questioning the Lauryn we know; i'm questioning the one we may not know. the one who has a thoroughly free mind, yet been talkin this bible nonsense her whole life like sane people supposed to relate? she herself dont even seem to believe it, yet she talk that bible talk; so she might not be talkin and walkin the same way. what if she is illuminati's best kept secret? she might say "nonviolence" but subtly inflame "violence." imo it's irresponsible to promote that type of imagery. but if she wants blood on her hands, i guess to her, that is a-o-k. but she's the same woman who sings "it could be you, before too long" (presumably) about apathetic people. so if she apathetic about random whites being killed by suggestible blacks, what did she mean by "it could be you, before too long?"

@ letsbringitback : apparently you did not read what I said but it's ok, forums/fora are not what they used to be. I guess as an insider, you do not need to hear other opinions.
I can't wait for this new song.

I understand where letsbringitback is coming from, with title like "black rage" it's bound to cause controversy especially regarding the rumours of the past. I think it's important as fans that we don't pay attention to any speculations made about Lauryn being a racist, because this is bound to happen over the coming months. As Lauryn's official page mentions the new song, does that mean it will be released by Sony?

Lauryn Hill DEFINITELY AINT RACIST.
PLEASE NOBODY START THINKING I'M SAYING THAT.
I'm not!
What I'm saying is "Black Rage" as a tour title is a subtle big-up to Colin Ferguson, whether she intends or realizes it entirely, or not.
It puts that momentum into the atmosphere advancing the evil suggestion that it's progressive behavior to kill random white people.
I think she picked a tour title that may put blood of innocents on her own hands.
For that reason and the other "coincidences" surrounding her behavior, I considered she might be under illuminati mind control, manipulated to promote that notion for the illuminati benefit of a race war that the govt can use to shut society into a Nazi police state.
in other words, if a race war pops off, it's merely a spectacle where illuminati gonna let powerless whites and powerless blacks kill each other for 5-10 minutes; then they're gonna shut sh*t down with their super-scientific military weapons and take over.
I think if Lauryn Hill would promote this possibility, then she probly under hypnosis; bcuz i just don't think she's evil or stupid.
I have no intention of advancing the lie that she's racist. there is a difference btwn sticking up for Black people and disliking whites.
i believe she probably feels the same love toward white people who share her beliefs as she feels about blacks, who happen to NEED her voice as a spokeswoman.
imo she is an idea woman, not a race woman. it just so happens blacks ARE the ones who are getting fhukced over on this PLANET. she sings music to my ears, when she speak out against injustice!
i just wish she aint wear illuminati hypno-stripes religiously, then tease the idea of random shootings of whites with the "black rage" tour title.
it aint a good look. the title aint that well thought-out. if it is, then you gotta shake your head and question her morals. would she gamble with her own the way she gambling with others' lives right now?
that's all i'm saying.
the great rabbi Hillel stated "if something is hateful to you, do not do that to others."
that was just before jesus was invented and Hillel's quote perverted by Rome into: "do unto others as you'd have them do unto you" which is an absurd, aggressive manipulation of the great Jewish sage Hillel.
so if getting shot up is hateful to you, don't f'n suggest it happens to others.
"That is the whole Torah; the rest is the explanation; go and learn." - Hillel the Elder

Wow,Myopian Hillel, you're quite funny.... And I haven't smoked yet ! Anyway....I'm half surprised of the title of the tour. We've always known that she's very proud of her culture and so..... Try to remind maybe some historical dramatic events that happened.... The picture is strange, the deads hanging are really frightend but it's a way to provoke of course. The other side is funny, Nas seems boring, waiting for Lauryn who doesn't show up (like in certain of her shows lol) .... And this last sentence : "Life is good" as it was ironic like : "Racism is still there but you don't care and convince you that life is good" or "Racism is still there but you have to pass over it and see that life is good".
Or maybe that's just two differents title without any links. Who knows?!
No need to create strange stories about illuminatis etc.... Oô

So Ms. Hill has finally broken the ice. 'Black Rage' sounds so serious, and so, nakedly powerful. If her new sound is anywhere akin to Miseducation, from the title of this song alone, I imagine it to be more bold, intellectual and musically enriched. But we shall see on this tour: Hip-Hop's last-standing heavyweights are returning to the ring to give it all they've got. Whether it is a hit or miss is not too important, what matters is that their faithful about this, and that Ms. Hill still remains higher than any of her contemporaries. But I am going to need Ms. Hill to bring her A-Game: 1) Show up on time to every show. 2) Take care of her voice and band. 3) Really bring it home. Please. After all these years and setbacks, I still have hope in her.

I think Ruffhouse Records being reassembled has a lot to do with her recent success with live performances and so I'm not worried about it.
What does concern me is the state of what currently passes for media. No one investigates, or invests in finding out the truth so if the wave of negativity that I expect to come her way does hit the net, the story is likely to be recycled and propagated without thought or care for the truth. We as supporters should start thinking of ways to counteract this now. I would start a blog, but I know that it would be extremely difficult to drive significant traffic, so I have been thinking that maybe some of the more prolific writers on the forum could compose short editorials, breaking down the truth, and email them to some of the less ignorant websites and blogs. NicoleBitchie has tended to be very favorable to Ms. Hill and gets decent traffic, also Concrete Loop, and a few others. Wyclef has hit the Campaign trail, I say we do the same. Tell me what you guys think.
