hey,
I live in London and went to see the fugees concert last night at the hammersmith Apollo.
It was possibly their last ever performance together... there was far too much disagreement between the group, with wyclef going to extremes to make the fugee's concert his own one. He rapped over Pras Michell's parts, climbed balconies and wouldn't allow Lauryn enough peace to sing something more poignant. In fact, he played "jump around" by House of Pain....
The show did go on extra long and Lauryn was incredible but pras almost didn't feature and i kept thinking that wyclef was ruining it for the rest of the group. some music was far too commercial and lacked their raw, under-stated sound we were there for.
Was amazing but sad to see that the group has come to an end

you're pathetic. you'll never find a hiphop show that doesn't have a dj set and place well known tracks eg. jump around.
pras has always been shit and done nothing on a fugees stage. if it wasn't for wyclef, there would have been silence cuz pras didn't give a f**k. he could have contribted if he wanted.
what are you on about. lauryn hill did about 5 solo tracks and a diana ross/supremes jam with her backing singers too. fool.
their last ever performance? what the f**k do u know.

i totally disagree. i can see what you mean about him rapping pras' parts, but it seemed to me pras was way too out of it to do it himself. and climbing into the audience was the best bit.
you cant claim that its not raw enough for you and then say he was being too raw for getting into the audience. him and lauryn carried the show for pras and its quite obvious hes only there to make up the numbers.

did u actually come to the same concert? or were u just one of those fools putting your hands in the air whenever wyclef asked? i was there for the music and the fugees but neither seemed to feature too strongly... the only person who i could appreciate was lauryn and that fat singer of hers. the rest was somekind of "wyclef show"
i understand what ur getting at with the dj sets (that was really good) and a few well placed tracks but "jump around"?? also, u cant deny the fact that wyclef deliberatly tried to play the bob marley version of No woman No cry rather than the fugees version (to spite the other members is my guess) and ended up making a fool of himself cos he didnt know the non-fugees lryics...
and pras CAN still rap. he did it so well at the end during "cowboys". he prefers darker, more raw music that wylcef can no longer handle
clearly the fugees as we knew them are dead. not because they cant but becuase wyclef wont

r yall crazy? i was at the fugees concert last night and the crowd were vibing with the group, i was right near the front and could see the energy that Lauryn and Clef put into the show. Pras didn't engage all that much, but to be honest when did he ever? But they held it down! I also felt wyclef coming into the crowd was great and he was literally meters away from me.Lauryn's pace on her rap was so polished , she is still the best Female Rapper in the business. Her vocal was great too. What a concert! One criticism about the show was the warm up act. What was that all about? They were not good! lol

ok, maybe i'm being a bit harsh. i did love it last night, they were awesome, i wont forget it. but still, anyone who went last nite and knows what the fugees are/were all about can see that their essence was missing... maybe i wont swing you but i just wanted people to know that, at least in my opinion, a sad thing has happened and we should notice its passing.
they will stay legends but i dont think anything more will come from them. not more than one track on their new album will equal the score. i saw it going in "the carnival" and when they broke up that was it. now they're together, and i got to see them, i personally think that the fugees, as we want to know them, no longer exist

Well that's YOUR opinion. And just because it seemed that it was Wyclef's show or whatever,it doesnt mean that they can't have good chemistry in the studio. I hate it when people jump to conclusions so quickly. You just went to ONE single show, big deal. How can you judge ?

you totally contradict yourself. you havent even heard any new music other than take it easy to be able to comment on any essence. you enjoyed and people were hyped and putting up thier hands. whats wrong with that? it means they enjoyed it as much as you did. surely if they can still get people that happy and perform that well there's nothing more to ask from them.
i love the score, but it really pisses me off when people glorify to the extent that you obviously do. sure its an amazing album, but there's no reason why anything they do from now on shouldnt be as good, it'll just be different, which makes perfect sense. i wouldnt want a carbon copy of the score, cos it doesnt show any progression and it'll just be boring.

And let me ask you how comes that the group went "to the end"? Not officialy, wright? So why you replace your personal opinion with non-existing ones!? Ican`t believe that people start new threads just to spit over Fugees, because of them personal disagreement? Fugees-online.de,PLEASE prevent this type of messages from further posting...I mean,it`s ok to disagree, but why that people who are obviosly unsatisfied write that in the "TOUR" section, and please people do not pose and answer on this pathetic themes...LOVE FILIP.

sorry, i must have got the wrong idea about discussion groups. clearly, sharing a personal opinion here is the wrong thing to do. i AM a massive fugees fan and all i wanted to tell you is that when i saw the fugees the other day i felt that they hadnt properly come back as a group but were basically just solo artists touring together. ive been trying to be subjective. here's a review from the times online. i dont want to breed hate i just dont want people who didnt go to get their hopes up too high.... fugeesonline.proboards21.com/index.cgi?board=tour&action=display&thread=1134722214"and even after all my logic and my theory, i add a m*th*rf**k*r so you ingn'ant niggas hear me..." kai

FREEDOM OF SPEECH people! FREEDOM OF SPEECH!!! Everybody is entitled to their opinion. Let's share opinions and discuss these kind of topics. Of course I understand that most people here have a problem wit kai r's opinion - but thats reality - not everybody is on the same score. I don't really think there is anything to censor here because it wasnt like kai r was ONLY bashing and hating all the way. HE DID had some valid points and most of it was just HIS opinion... OK, I agree, the headline "It's OVER" is a disputable. IT HASN'T EVEN REALLY BEGUN YET! You can come here again in a few months after the new album flopped (if it does...) BUT I dont agree with you. I dont think Wyclef tried to outshine everyone else. He has always been the most outgoing, most active one of the three. It seems he is just overly HYPED and he tries to do it right this time around. He's simply happy to be back... back with the fugees but most of all he is happy he is BACK again at all. He just needs attention and fans and that kind of sutff. He is an entertainer. I didn't really get your point with "No Woman No Cry" - You said Wyclef sang the Marley version on purpose to leave out the other two?! WTF?! This has always been sort of Wyclefs solo tune! Remember the version on the score? ALL WYCLEF (except for some barely audible lauryn backings) - back in 1996, eg the GINO concert, he performed this song solo as well. By the way: the review by TIMES ONLINE isnt really that bad. It is quite objective... giving the concert 3 out of 5, mentioning the goods as well as the bads... peace!
