OK, here is what I think:
1. TAKE IT EASY is not the 1st single - just a street track, reasons:
ONE: It hasnt been released anywhere except for the USA and UK TWO: They released VINYLS first to get the track into clubs - buzz track! THREE: I dont believe a video in south africa was shot for take it easy - it must have been another one. FOUR: PRAS himself says that the songs from the new album are more complex than take it easy... this shows that the fugees, at least PRAS, is aware that the songs structure is quite flat... To me, he indicates that this was just a street single to create a buzzzz, making a hint to more complex songs coming up.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
2. J.PERIOD will be on tour with the fugees
ONE: he is hot right now TWO: he produced take it easy THREE: has been working with Ms HILL recently - she seems to respect his work
Do you think J.Period is going to be the new DJ LEON?! and how does this effect their sound?! Can we expect a more synthized sound?! I dont know enough of periods work to judge on that matter... I only know that hes got mad love for classical soul sound... so I wouldnt neccesarily think that the new TAKE IT EASY style is typical for the new album...
opinions?!

We will see....no matter what,we all live in 21st century. This is not 1996.They just can`t make old school s*it like Score. What you think this old generation listens to nowadays? G-unit crap, and all those fake mother****in` gangsters and that s*it.They must stay competetive because 10 years missing in hip-hop is like 100 years in normal life. These kids think that even Nelly is old school now.How sad is that.I know that J Period brought something new with them, but maybe it`s even better for them, get me? We will wait and see (hear)...PEACE

the first pint is: do u like take it easy people... i mean, we are (hope so) the true fugee fans, no one more thta us have the feel about them and they music, personally i leke to much take it easy, cuase is diferent, is not the calssic beat, it contagious and energic (i think), bue i believe that the forth comming album definitely will rock the stage... yeah, u right about the things that happen in hip hop in ten years, but remember they are musicians not just commercial stuff, and a true musician always grows as the flow goes...

Well i get you, dawyked,i like Take it easy, maybe it just isn`t what i expected but because of what i mentioned in the above lines, maybe i expected to sound more like The Score.I would rather like them to be hardcore (as much as i would like myself to be 12 years old again back then in 1996 :-) ) Beat is exellent,i read so much crap about it every day on th internet, but i`m telling you people, when you listen just flat beat (instrumental) it is complex, indeed.Somebosy can`t judge it over that sample that`s repeating,as a matter or fact, that sample gives it sommething new and interesting.I also saw the lines about it-"It sounds like Tony Yayyo`s So seductive" !? Wha`t the f*ck are that people talking about? Have you noticed the difference between Lauryn`s rhymes and Tony`s!? They can`t be compared...Lauryn`s verses are talking about something much more deep, much more over "Shorty so seductive, dancin` on me..." blah blah s*it. Clef & Pras`s verses are also ok,and those who tell Clef is boring...well...maybe he`s not.For example, who sanged on the first track after intro on score...i`m thinkin`..."How many mics do we rip on a daily..." You see,it`s not his first time, for goodness! Pras verse isn`t as complex as those two,but u know i like him so much so he can rap about anything.Ok,objectively speaking,i think he will have a better verses on the new album,seriosly.So...we have "Take it easy"...but how much easy can we take it? For me,i took it serious simply because i like it.Good beat, even better Lauryn`s rhymes, solid verses by Clef & Pras.Maybe the`re just sayin`"On this one we`re like givin` you something easy...but the whole album is gonna hit you like never before..."? Some of us are patientely waiting...are you? xex PEACE

I think that the Fugees just wanted to point out that they were back. I doubt that "take it easy" is their first official single. Far as these young kats, they will know talent when they hear it. Lauryn Hills is futuristic lyrical talent. Clef will be more than on point for this album and Pras will represent. These youngins know "miseducation of lauryn hill" and they know "party to damascus" and i think they need to be educated on what conscious music is. People like Common and Kanye are showing that it can still reach the top of the charts. The Fugees can help save hip hop music. And "take it easy" is not classic material but it's hot and also hotter than 80% of the hip hop out right now. The Fugees will be fine. Even if they don't do the huge numbers like last time they will get love.

I mostly agree with you "voices",but i don`t think Kanye is so hot...i mean with lyrics yes,but he isn`t the best rapper (hes rappin` isn`t revolutionary),so that leaves the space for Fugees to break even him down (i mean on the charts) so they can show that they can still make sucess and, which is of more importance good example for kids who listen to hip-hop anyway...But i was wondering about collaboes? What you guys think...who will be a guest (they gotta have at least 1-2 appearances)?
