How do you guys like the recent style of dress? I must say at first I didn't really like it but by now somehow I dig the style. I really liked the retro kind of outfits she had in 2005 which were nothing but beautiful. This new look is crazy and less flattering but I also find something fanscinating about it. She really had some bad outfits on this last tour, I didn't like Brazil, Serbia and Brooklyn, but I liked how she looked in London, Belgium, Prague, Norway... I don't even know if there is a name for this style. Anyway, I know it's not an important issue but I'm sure some of you have been thinking about this. So what's your opinion on Ms Hills new look?

I like the fact she isnt afraid to do something really left of centre, like that cowboy leather jacket thing with the frills on the back and the rosy red cheeks and like golfer pants. Has she dyed her hair too, or is just the lights in the photos that make it look lighter? I loved what she wore in Africa, like the motorcycle jacket with a lace / doylie kinda dress. Who thinks that way? Thing is, she's not gonna win any best dressed lists cause she's not playing by conventional fashion rules. But who makes these rules anyway?

It's ecentric, but that's Lauryn. It's weird, but that Lauryn. It's colorful, but that Lauryn. It's original, but that's Lauryn. Lauryn Hill is so many different characters like we all are. Why should we criticise her feelings and emotions, because that's what clothing represents. I'm all for it. It's honest emotions and feelings. I guess you never understand Lauryn's depth unless you have depth yourself.

I totally feel what you say, aloo. I think a reason why I care for Lauryn Hill besides her music is that she is so diverse. I remember when I was in Prague they advertised her concert with video sequences from Unplugged but we wittnessed a totally different Lauryn that night. That she is able to do so many different things and isn't caught up in one certain style. In the end it's always Lauryn. When she talked in Unpluged and talked now in Belgium, it's she same person. But she is able to find so many different expression. Also musically. Just through Lost Ones, Mr Intentional, The Passion and Lose Myslef outthere. Brilliant works that are so different because they are from different times. By the way I really like the trenchcoat to come back to the fashion topic and also the rusty red hair. I think she has that since late 2006, when she performed with that long black outfit.

You're spot on thepassion. It shows maturity and growth when someone can change emotionally and spiritually. Music is Lauryn's life, so it has to grow and change as long as she is growing and changing. I would be very concerned if she still were the same vocally, emotionally, and spiritually like the miseducation days. That was a long time ago. It's important to grow continually.
