It's hard to understand even for good speakers. She is definitely not afraid of speaking her mind, and making sure her listeners are smart and understanding people.
I analysed the video. She's saying this:
"I've learned to have patience and faith in order to survive and endure and persevere...and certainty. I didn't disappear for no reason, you know? I disappered because i had to get myself together and clean up my house, with respect to what the priorities were. I think that what happens is that we gain a lot of priority and popularity very fast. What happens is not just the music industry, but the industries of the world have a tendency to want to make caricatures (meaning: a picture, description, etc., ludicrously exaggerating the peculiarities or defects of persons or things) out of you. I felt they're beginning to turn me into an iconic identity that almost was chyrstalised. There was no room for growth and for change, and for honesty. So it was a lot of determination, and integrity to tell the powers that made me, you know? I'm not a caricature. I can't fit into a stereotypical indentity, that makes me comfortable for you. And you have to honour the integrity and identity that i give you, and if infact that makes you uncomfortable, um i need to find some new company. This is so i can get a full measure of my integrity. And if that threatens you, and if a woman is articulate, intelligent and spiritual...if that gives you reason for hesitation, then maybe you should leave then...you know ladies, i'll tell you something we have beautiful men in our community, but we have a history and a legacy of brokenness and damage and abuse...and don't take it. Because we are not going to link up together and kill each other, be more self-destructive and homicidal. That's not a healthy relationship. We need to be able to get together and help each other and strengthen each other"
It's quite accurate...but there was more in her speech but the video finished.

Yeah...it's takes strength to educate others. It's hard enough educating those who are willing to be educated, let alone those who don't even want to learn.

And lets not forget people are afraid of the truth! When someone unveils the truth people like to run and hide or make fun of the truth, as if they cant relate or like its so bizarre! Lauryn Hill is very brave! To stand in front of that crowd and say "this is me take it or leave it"!

I would hate to see Lauryn performing the same at every concert. You need variety or it gets boring. People just call it 'yelling' or 'screaming'. It's just her way of performing a song with a different kind of emotion.
