I know there has been alot of speculation about Lauryn collaborating with Kanye West. Listening to this interview, I don't think it has happened. He may have songs using samples, but it doesn't sound like they have worked together in the studio. Therefore, the talk of a song produced by Kanye on the Games album may have been just that talk. www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAJuzg6OHiY

This is new, the event only happened last week. In addition, some people were suggesting that she somehow had been excluded from the Games album when it appears that she never worked in studio with Kanye.

Thats what he once said in an interview! No too long ago... HE DID make beats for two songs for lauryn hills new album, but as he said, it was not his best work.... He is not sure if the two beats make the final cut for the album...

Personally, I'm not too interested in hearing lauryn hill over kanye west beats... I dont think it matches very well. Its just not where lauryn hill is at right now...

Whether or not Kanye said he's been in the studio, it was the Game who said that Lauryn was on his album, not Kanye. The Game NEVER SAID that Kanye produced the Lauryn track. He just mentioned Lauryn's name.

Yeah I agree. well as unpredictable as ms. hill is, who knows who she'll do a song with....who knows maybe one day she may wake up and say "what the hell, let's do a song Kanye".... ....but then again, i could see ms. hill and kanye doing a song together, if kanye does some more socially conscious lyrics, but as far as beats go kanye is very versatile, so who knows.....but i digress

OMG these rappers are full of it. They just say they're collaborating with someone if they talk to them for 1 second. It's just part of the hype so they can sell they're record. Think about it. If it wasn't for all the hype of Lauryn featuring on the Game's new album, do you think we would have been interested about his release. NO! Lauryn doesn't need to hype her music or collaborate to make her album best album of the year. You know when Kanye was talking about how Late Registration was the best album of the year, and it had to win that grammy. I think if it wasn't for the collaborations with Jamie Foxx, Adam Levine, Common, Paul Wall & GLC, Brandy, Game (not that he counts lol), Nas & Really Doe, Consequence & Cam'Ron he wouldn't have won. It would have been just another rap album. But because all these artists believed that Kanye West was a good producer the industry thought that it wasn't right if someone else won. It was like a various artists album, seriously. Nearly every song was a collabo. They helped lift the albums profile. I'm not dissing, just my opinion. I like Kanye, he speaks from his heart and is honest. That's great. I really like his songs "Jesus Walks", "All falls Down" and "Diamonds" but i don't think all of us could stand an album full of songs like "celebration", "addiction" and "roses". I mean if you should win a rap album of the year, it should be you rapping not hundreds of others with you.

true, it seems now almost every other song on an artist's album is a collab. of some sort....*thinks back to Mised with only 3 collabs*

Too many collaborations don't show off the artists true talent. At least we know Miseducation was all Lauryn Hill

Collaborations are aiiigh if used in a certain manner, i.e., synthesizing the best or the most unique skills and talents each artist has and uniting them in a collective work. Nothing Even Matters was a wonderful collab with D and Lauryn Hill. The Santana collab was also giant. I'm not so quick to knock artists working together. It doesn't totally stifle the artist's creativity (if done genuinely), and can turn out to produce an unexpected, interesting or fresh kind of work.
But yeah I agree - collaboration announcements = creation of hype!

It's okay to collabo, but not with so many artists on your own solo album. It doesn't emphasise your work. It just doesn't feel right to me. If i buy Lauryn's album, i wannae hear Lauryn like 75% of the time, which always happens. With Kanye it was like only 40% of the time. You can tell he's a better producer than rapper

And as far as the beats making the album-- they never did! And further, the relationship between Kanye and Lauryn is strained.....mostly due to Kanye taking shit that does not belong to him, and manipulating and stetching shit without permission.
