lol I would take an assistant position to the role if one came up though I would need 2 years to get really good at it I reckon. Knowing nothing is my favourite starting point I love been one of those annoying people that questions everything. Not having a clue is fun and challenging. The freshest ideas always come from the un indoctrinated lol

The economic interests of the traditional channels through which performances are disseminated constrict the content and delivery of what presented.
Authentic, spontaneous "performance" is not compatible with deadlines. Therefore authentic spontaneous performance has has no channel and little visability.
Surely authentic spontaneous performance should have a platform. How do we create such a platform ? Even having such a platform how do we overcome the expectations generated by nearly exclusive exposure to sanitised, contrived, lifeless drudgery.
To me it's the difference between seeing lighting and turning on a light switch.

Let's objectively determine what is reasonable and feasible and look at the costs and benefits

It is an interesting challenge / problem to overcome which requires some willingness to change from all stake holders.
Ms Hills Goals
1. Deliver a dynamic, authentic show 1.5 disseminate performances as widely as possible - this is the goal that has the most tension with the others 2. Book enough dates to generate enough income to pay the band and crew and cover expenses plus generate some profit 3. Maintain mental and physical health and avoid robot conveyor mode 4. Make time for 6 kids and life apart from music 5. Maintain enough slack to allow spontenity both with performances (easier ) and with regard to booking extra dates as opportunities arise (harder) 6. Make recordings 7. Maintain an eye on finances, etc
Goals of those who wish to economically benefit from Ms Hill
...
Goals of passive stakeholders (fans)
...
Help me out here people let's solve this equation !

I read some of the Facebook replies which were mostly negative. I think some people really can't tell the difference between a robotic and authentic "performance" I don't know how people can't - if "it" is there whatever "it" is call it vitality, authenticity, vibrations, it can be felt. Ms Hill gives off so much of it it's like been hit by a train. After experiences Ms Hill live most other live performances these days seem like black and white after glorious hd colour. The difference is staggering. I have missed two shows now which I paid for and could not attend because MY energy was not aligned with my time. I have now taken steps to give myself the best chance of the two aligning. if something is important to you - you want to be at your best for it

I read the Facebook post after writing the above. I think she explained things very well I have to say for such an incredible writer sometimes her message is lost in translation. Case in point her speech at the kindergarten grad ceremony, target audience = kindergarten age kids. I'm not for dumbing down but I would have been scared if u was one of those kids and probably not understood hardly any of what she said. Good ol badu did have a point " what good do your words do if they can't understand you?, don't go talking that shit badu badu-ah-ooh-ooh" lol lol lol

Woo hoo ! Reports are in that Lauryn was two hours late to her Atlanta gig on Sunday, after initally claiming her driver got lost she finally simply stated on her Facebook that she was aligning her energy with the time That's how she wants to do it that's how I like it Some people won't understand it but when I go to see Ms Hill live would be heart broken if robot Lauryn showed up - would always rather wait for the real deal As I have stated before I think she does amazingly well to hit anywhere near a time target with what she brings. It's 7 pm ! Be "on" lol real life don't work like that. Why you think cocaine is so prevelent among performers ? Synthetic shortcut - ! Two ideas - avoid booking venues with early curfews or apply for extensions if possible - may require booking venues further in advance. When the energy comes use anchoring techniques and eventually one can control the energy rather than the other way round. You still remain flexible of mind to allow Duende to come by but essentially shortcut any ritual.
