@aina , "they are not very good" regardless of who or what you compare them too. Not compared to Bob, Lauryn, or random people on the street. Not even compared to their little cousin she let rap.
MLH is the first to say she doesn't owe us a thing ,so why would we owe it to her to walk on eggshells around here?
It doesn't matter if we are extra polite or brutally honest. MLH will still be late to the concerts you attend and you won't hear a new album from her just like I won't. She gonna pay you the same dust she pays me. I don't know why you argue so much like you are trying to prove something. Your relationship with MLH is the same as everyone else's around here - non existent!!!!
Now, while you were becoming a know it all, you forgot to study your vocabulary.
Argument *a statement or series of statements for or against something
Mean * characterized by petty selfishness or malice
Real *actually existing or happening : not imaginary
Deflection * the act of changing or causing something to change direction; EX: making a thread about MLH kids music turn into the 5th thread concerning your personal methods of criticism - which, as you can see, nobody cares about, and now you are on about people's age. lol
You're dismissed now.

I doubt her daughter want to be a singer ,she was an aspiring model when she was younger I'm not even gonna lie ,I was shocked when I heard her son ...very mainstream so L boogie son wants to act like a thug wow The question is who is gonna put down the Marley tree "brand" ...Talking about the third générations of Marley Those who have strong ties to their heritage ,their caribbean (jamaican roots) are doing quite well like jomersa ,skip or daniel bambaata because people expect a certain cultural backgroung when it comes to Marleys ...I guess we can't really expect this from Zion ,he was raised by american standards (his american family, mom) ,people are influenced by their immediate environment .He needs to inspire people with positive message in his lyrics ...music or not her son will be okay i guess

this board was created more than 10 years ago, for a long time it was one of the sole sources of info and place of discussion about LH so I presume most people here are 30+ like myself. And being in your 20s does not make you less mature or does not make your ideas less thought-provoking.
Guest007 I agree with you, what I see creatively from LH's kids is not really interesting and rather subpar. They've been travelling all their lives, they have parents with such a rich history, they have access to so many things in the world, I guess people (myself included) expected them to have a certain level of conscience. Selah seems curious and aware of the world around her but I saw some of her twitter pictures and was surprised to see her posing with dollar bills in front her BMW. To me, they're just rich kids who happen to have an iconic mother and an iconic grandfather. It often gives me the impression that Lauryn does not teach her own children what she preaches and somehow it irks me and makes me think that maybe she does feel entitled. Something tells me Joshua is the "heir to the throne" though, he's deifferent.
Personally I've always felt that Bob's children and grandchildren totally misused his spiritual and philosophical heritage. Bob was a revolutionary, he fought against injustice and all isms, he defended the poor (he financially supported many families in Kingston esp in Trenchtown)...But his children use his image to sell mediocre records (apart maybe from Kimani), ganja, coffee and hideous clothes. They should have a real charity, donate scholarchips to brilliant poor kinds in the Caribeans, develop artistic and cultural ties with artists in the African diaspora, I dunno. They just seem greedy and it's sad

As far as Zion & Selah's content goes, I'm not to thrilled about it either, but remember that they are still teenagers at the end of the day lol. I'm pretty sure their parents have instilled in them great teachings, but like most teenagers they're not going to apply for another few years or so. Whatever they decide to pursue I hope they go far with it.
Oh, and since we're talking about ages I'm 23 lol

@maryseo7 @marsai
I see what you're saying, though I don't think there's anything particularly "wrong" with Zion or Selah, they are just very typical. Perhaps because MLH had a little something extra people want her kids to be "special", but some things you just can't teach. For example: a lot of what we see from MLH musically and lyrically probably stems from the fact that she loved listening to her parents old music. That's just who she was. If her kids just want to listen to Drake all day, what is she gonna do? lol They like what they like. Besides, I think raising privileged kids is just hard because most kids of celebs are very similar. Even if MLH taught her kids, they'd still be that way because:
1) money/probably spoiled 2) fame by association 3) social media
IF MLH grew up with those things, I doubt she would've become what she did either. We can see how fame(excessive praise) seemed to go to her head. Also, people will try to flaunt whatever they can on social media for validation - their body, money, cars, weed, whatever they think makes them look cool. They are trying to impress their peers, so I don't put much into it. That is typical, hopefully they grow out of it. I've seen much worse though.
Musically though, they are old enough to be way better than they are. Taking Lauryn and Bob out of the equation, both talent and content wise, they just aren't good.
@maryseo7, I agree about the Marley's. They use to claim they didn't like the way Bob was known for weed, but now they are using his image to sell it. "Greedy" is the perfect word, because it looks like they are doing well financially and had no need to go there.

Your thinking in your 20s is different than in your 30s, 40s etc, you do have some who are more advanced and some who don't advance as they mature in age. I Know there is the Bob Marley Foundation and the Rita Marley Foundation. Not sure of all the projects involved, however I know the RMF does a lot of work

maryseo 7, we share the same sentiments. I was really disappointed when I saw Zion's video. I don't have a problem with him rapping but the ganja smoking and acting like a thug I just don't know. There is no excuse for her kids to behave that way considering that their mother was raised in a loving, protected and nurturing environment. Even their uncle Malaney Hill seems very classy and educated. Lauryn should not allow outside influences pollute her children's minds considering how she has always been protective of her own image.
