Where there is smoke their is fire.
Sorry, I'm not buying the statement by her camp. I provided an audio a couple days ago of her rehearsing a weeknd song. Her engineer posted on the shade room that Lauryn has been excited about performing for the Grammys for a while. No artist flys privately with a whole crew for nothing. Anyway, this is not a good look. She's making it hard for industry people to respect her, and for fans to believe in her. Y'all let me know when an album or singles comes out...
I don't like to assume, but I'm thinking Lauryn was late, if you watch the Weeknd performance he continues to look back as if he's expecting something or someone to come out... it never happens..
Anyway, she just gave people more ammunition to assume she will never show up or be late.
Y'all let me know when her single or album comes out lol

I had my suspicions that this performance was not going to happen. It seemed silly having two Boston shows and then rushing to LA on the morning of the performance. One rehearsal at 8am was not going to cut it. She should've declined the invitation long ago. Unfortunately she'll come off this looking tardy yet again lol. Ah well...

It sounds like she wasn't happy with the way her voice was sounding because she mentions twice related to her weekend concerts. Who knows. I am disappointed, but it is what it is. If the grammys hadn't released it in their promo, it would've stayed a 'possibility' rather than it appearing as if it was set in stone. So, in that regard she had every right to pull out if it wasn't a for sure thing. Maybe she was practicing in case she decided to go along with it. Putting her whole band on the charter does seem as though she did make a commitment, chartering a plane is not cheap lol. But it also could be that she was prepping in case she did decide to join him, idk...
So who knows.
I think she was eager to do it,but she probably should've declined. Too much to do between the time of her two concerts and the grammys.

Hey, is it possible for you to repost the clip again? I didn't get a chance to hear it the first time and now I'm really curious to hear what they were going to do. I would really appreciate it :-)

Idk, but being a no show along with releasing that statement calling out the Grammy's for making the announcement can't be good for her "relationship" with the show moving forward.
I saw many people saying the rehearsal went well and even chronicles seemed convinced she was performing. There seemed to be no signs that she was unhappy when she left rehearsal. So, I don't even know what to think.

Its really hard being a Lauryn fan. I think Lauryn may have Nina and Miles Davis beat on this sort of stuff lol A lot of things have change for the better over the past years... However, a lot of things ares till the same... If I don't see it or hear it, I'm no longer believing anything. lol

Plus we had the guy in her band that seemed confident she was performing. Cronicles seemed very confident she was performing. He even said she was excited about it.

Yup, he even said they worked on something, and had another surprise during the performance... It's obvious she was planned to be apart of it, and had something went wrong... My bet is fear or being late.

Its really hard being a Lauryn fan. Her and Kanye make it hard to be fans (for different reasons obviously). I just think this was a classic example of Lauryn changing her mind at the last minute. The perfectionist in her wouldn't let her go through with it because the prep conditions were not "ideal". That Fader magazine article in Oct Made reference to her approach for shows and how she wants everything perfect, even changing her whole outfit right before she has to hit the stage. She was probably overwhelmed by the whole thing and decided to bail last minute. By the way Nicki Minaj also advertised as a performer but she confirmed she wouldn't be performing due to timing issues. So it does seem Grammys advertise without final confirmation from the artist.
