Colbie Callait "...Caillat took piano lessons as a child, but lacked significant inspiration until she turned 11 years old and became enthralled with Lauryn Hill's performance in Sister Act 2. Immediately realizing that she wanted to be a singer..." allmusic.com/artist/colbie-caillat-p920925/biography

"After a 9 year absence Q-Tip finally released Kamaal the Abstract and The Renaissance in 2009. He had this to say, “There hasn’t been a delay and I think I can speak for myself, Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu and D’Angelo when I say that we make music when the spirit is with us. We are a lot who are very observant as well as introspective. We paint intense, colorful pictures, so it takes time.” " www.state.ie/28082-news/q-tip-for-the-button-factory

Melanie Fiona and John Legend:The Root: As far as today's music goes, are you anticipating Lauryn Hill's return? J. Legend: Well, I've been anticipating her coming back since 1998. I was a huge fan of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. I even was a fan of the Unplugged album. It wasn't the most listener-friendly, but there were some real gems on that, too. I've always looked at her as one of the most interesting and talented artists that have come out in our generation. When I saw her onstage at Rock the Bells, I felt like she had her enthusiasm for making music back. I'm no psychoanalyst, but it seems like she's having fun again. If she wants my help, I would love to help. I think we all are looking forward to her coming back. www.theroot.com/views/root-interview-john-legend?page=0,2 around 1:45

This was during the release of Mary's fourth LP, the one which Lauryn wrote and produced the lead single "All That I Can Say." Around the 5:55 mark Lauryn shows up to Mary's in-store album signing. LOL. How humble. You can tell they loved/love each other like sisters.

Jazmine Sullivan speaks about her comparison to Lauryn Hill as an artist and sings the chorus to 'I Used To Love Him' during a radio interview. It starts around 7min 40sec. I really like Jazmine's voice actually, but you don't hear hear on the radios. A real artist though.
