I went to her concert in Amsterdam, the day before yesterdag on july 26th. She was late like I expected her to be, but I didn't mind. I was prepared. before she came up, a dj who did the pre-show, announced that her voice was raspy, that she had a cold I believe. The announcemnet was in Dutch. A minute later he came back and repeated it in English, I think that was an order from Lauryn. He said her voice was a bit 'strange' and that she would perform in spite of it because she didnt want to disappoint the fans by cancelling the show. The band was AMAZING! She came and started with 'the heaten' . the playlist was I think exactly as in Denmark. Yes, her voice was raspy, but we were warned. The show wasnt sold out, the publicity was very very poor in Holland, but I didnt mind, the real fans knew about the concert but it was crowdy, just perfect actually. Overall, I LOVED the show! The reunion tour of the Fugees in 2005 was better, but this was sooo sooo great! She talked to us, asked if we could hear her and asked the soundmen to turn up the volume of her mic. But the sound was just great. The place she performed in, The Heineken Music Hall, is known as the place with the BEST sound of EUROPE! The best acoustic sound or something The crowd wasnt that familiar with the Bob marley songs, they got really enthusiastic when she sang the Fugees songs, starting with how many mics. She kept apologizing for her voice, we kept cheering and she said we were being too kind, too generous. She sang 'the first time I saw your face' but admitted she shouldn't have with the condition her voice was in. At the end she said she would be back, she would be back when her voice was back to normal. i dont care about her voice, just let her come back! I look forward to it! I love her and always will! However the Dutch media doesnt agree. They were everything but positive. They claim she ruined her image and that she ruined the song killing me softly, that she sounded like a drunk in a karaoke bar. Thats just too bad, al lot of people read that paper. I looked forward to this concert for so long and it did live up to my expectations. And it was also very very long! It lasted over 2 hours! I wish I could go again, and again and again... Ms. Hill is amazing!

I want to goooo toooooo!!! But I live in Holland. I have amsterdam ticktes but thats not enough! Vega, is that far from the city, the tourist area? If I can find a cheap flyticket and hotel I'm definetly going to kopenhagen. Too bad you dont have euro;s. Do people talk english in denmark? Could you pleassseee goive me some info? my email is fatikoe@hotmail.com x Fatiha, desperate Lauryn fan Hi, Vega is not that far from the city centre, I believe you can easily walk there. Its near the main train station. I will arrive by train by the way... I planning to stay in the international youth hostel (Ive been there before and it was cheap & ok!). I decided to go to Copenhagen because a) I really like the city b) the VEGA is quite a small, intimate venue (as I heard) so its not going to be a big festival... but a small intimate concert! I'm gonna get some more information on the youth hostel if you want... I'll let you know! PS: people in Denmark, Kopenhagen speak english VERY well! peace! Could you check that out for me please. I have to decide quick, because the longer I wait, the more expensive the flight tickets will be. And I think I'd have to by the lauryn ticket soon too. But you live in denmark? I choose denmark too because I read the hall is small, a intimate concert indeed, just 1500 people. In amsterdam It'll be 5500 people. I hope to hear from you x Fatiha

Hello everybody! I am from amsterdam, and was at their concert in belgium yesterday. I want to know who else was there and how they experienced it. I was expecting the song, take it easy, I heard they sang it in England, but they didnt in belgium. The concert was beyond my wildest dreams! I've been a fan for over 8 years, and I must say i thought I couldnt become a bigger fan than I already was, but I was wrong. I even signed up at this messageboard. They were sooooooooo great, not enough words in the english vocabulary to describe it! I've been in shock the whole day. i cant waittttttttttttttt for their new album, especially lauryns! best concert ever!
