Ms. Hill was scheduled to perform at the Pier 6 Pavilion in Baltimore. Showtime was to begin at 7:30 PM. However, Ms. Hill arrived on stage at 9:51 and performed a little over an hour before the sound was turned off due to the city sound ordinance after, you guess it ,"Ready or Not." I think it time to show the fan some reciprocity. The gates were open at 6:30 PM.
On a lighter note, Ms. Hill appeased fans by staying around to sign autographs and take a few pictures.
The little boy who cried wolf for so long that when the wolf came no one believe him. Excuses only good for the one who makes them. It's time to set your clock 2 hours ahead Ms. Hill.

We criticize the social ills when the police disrespect and murder our people; yet when we disrespect them, we expect them to be glad somehow that we showed up and we murder them in their pocket books. It is selfish to think that time is of no importance for others. How can we demand others to respect us when we won't respect each other. What even sadder is the fans seem to be tolerance of this childish behavior. My my how we have digress when it comes to respect. |

Lauryn is defiantly on CP time... in Africa when someone says we will meet at 12PM everyone shows up at 4PM Erykah Badu is also known to be a late artist, but it seems people are more harsh on Lauryn... |

Whatever you will tolerate it will not change. Tunisia the excuse was luggage didn't come on the plane and they had told promoters to move the show back supposedly. This Diva and Queen with subjects have got to change. After all, a queen collect from the subjects;she doesn't go out and get it, but if you can show up anytime and still collect then maybe the fans are under mind control. Well I am from the old school. the ojays, al green Millie Jackson, Betty Wright etc. These ballad teers were awesome and showing up on time and performing was not the exception but the rule. They seem to have had a greater respect for their audience then these artists. I mean I expect gratitude to the highest when someone still think that you are relevant and willing to wait and pay. Respect truly is the MINIMUM. COME ON DOWN GET YOUR HEAD OUT THE CLOUD! It's entertainment. Like I said earlier, when the little boy cry wolf all the times, who want to hear another excuse. Let the show go on. Well, I see you didn't take me up on the fast oh well I will find someone else. PS moon nor la323 need not respond. Lauryn messing up and you still......lol. |

I've attended the show and have been to many of Lauryn shows throughout the years. I can definitely say that she has got better in regards to time.
Its funny they failed to mentioned the awesome young artist named Raury that opened up for her, so technically, she wasn't 4 hours late.
Given that she has the reputation that she always late, people have grown to expect that and patience real low. I heard one fan complain as soon as the other artist set was finished saying " Damn, where she at!" im thinking geez, give the crew time to change the set! lol
It was a point when the audience was restless when the DJ was suppose to bring her out but was delayed for a few MINUTES...they booed because they thought she was coming out but as soon as she hit the stage, the whole vibe changed and the crowd was rocking out.
You have to actually to actually GO and experience a Lauryn Hill show and not based it from people that DONT even go! The online videos and comments from ppl that want to see her fail is far from the actual IN person experience. Even the good videos dont really do any justice compared to the REAL LIVE thing! I maybe be biased or lucked up and always be in a good section, but the majority of the audience around me be amazed and seemed to be having a good time.
If you have a chance, check her out and then decide whether or not you will continue to support her. I dont think it's fair to judge her based from online reviews from ppl that either: feed into the "crazy" Lauryn theory or that get their info from a few twitter comments.
Oh yea...check out the young kid name Raury...he really was a good opener and obviously a big fan of Ms. Hill. He seemed very appreciative to be opening up for her and his performance was on point!

Oh true2u why do you rush to the board to offer your judgement. I was actually hoping you would share the basis for your affinity with Ms Hill in the other post  The late concert starts are functioning as a brake on demand and expectation in my opinion. I think the main reason is simply to slow the pace down and avoid that feeling of been a robot on an endless conveyor belt. Once that brain swirl starts all bets are off - the mega ego could come and then disaster strikes. The most important thing for Ms Hill for me is that she is able to maintain her recovery, happiness and stability. The notion of lateness by some people is that the late one values their time over others and it is viewed as a disrespect. I have been a late one and it was never intended as a disrespect. except in cases of genuine emergent events it was a reaction to my own anxiety. I was never sitting around laughing at the people waiting for me as I have been told was sometimes the impression. Of course sometimes shit just happens  |

It was just 2 hours for the Tunisia bit and she explained what happened. It's not a big deal to me. CP time, is CP time lol, but I also understand that travelling and touring is not easy. Things always comes up. Lauryn is very consistent with being 'late' so to speak, so you can actually plan around it lol. |

people who only value themselves and their time are unable to consider other factors, that is not me. Her being 'late', is not a big deal because I'm not selfish and overly attached to structure. However, you're not real a fan and don't care about Lauryn the PERSON or the people that work with her. You seem to only value your needs, your time and your money and if that's the case you can keep all 3 and don't buy a ticket. Consider her consistency with an UNDERSTANDING of unpredictability while touring/travelling and make your decision; attend, stay or leave, but at least you would have taken the time to consider the capricious nature of touring. Nothing to do with not having self-respect, I'm just not self-centered. I consider all aspects.
Please go seek professional help, you need it.

What if true2u was really poorly and suffering? What help is there LA? There really is no provision for affordable mental health care in the U.S. Obama got step one done but right to care is not the same as access to treatment. The current reality is people are left to cope as best they can till the point of no return and then rounded up by the equivalent of human dog catchers |
