Greetings bredrens & sistrens,
I am seeking desperately a song of the Fugees which touched me deeply. I actually heard it through a video clip of it.
I remember Ms. Hill wearing army camoflage clothes in the video and the song has melanchonic vibes and beats. I think the song is bout the World and against war. Both Misters Pras and Jean appear in it too (Wyclef for sure but I don't remember Pras).
It has a sad mood to it, you know.
Thanks many for your help.
Word & Blessings,
The Sun in Haiti is Warm

Thank you No I am afraid it is not Ready Or Not. Maybe I was wrong about the army clothes... The video is of a song that is not from The Score album and was released many years later from their rise to fame. I suspect the video/song was released as a Lauryn Hill song with Wycleff as guest. It is not to be found in her Miseducation album. Blessings.

Is it the "Rumble the jungle" song ? , where Lauryn sings "give me an angel in the morning baby".

No Sybille, it isn't related to the boxing event. I remember in the video Ms. Hill is walking around an urban set which I think has been wrecked or bombed with Mister Wyclef joining in as supporting background vocal and chorus. I think the song was about the wickedness of war, or about poverty in Developing countries but it wasnt an agressive tone, more like sad and melanchonic (not Ready or Not) i.e. it had a social message.

mhhh... could it be the song "GUNPOWDER"? This song is from 1997 and appeared on Wyclefs solo debut "The Carnival" - I know it was realeased as a single in a few countries... though I have never seen a video to it - but maybe there is one?! The songs has definitly a melancholic vibe and it is a song against war. However, in the song, Wyclef as the leading role and Lauryn does only some backings.... or maybe you are talking about an EARLY fugees song. For example "BOOF BAF" - I remember this video takes place in an urban scenery which looks kind of wrecked... if anyone has a link to the video... please post it.

no its not Gunpowder ( i listened to it) and it is not Boof Baf either (I haven't got the track but I read the lyrics and it seems to me Boof Baf is a more roots militant track and not melanchonic). But good guessing though . I have no more information unfortunately. I just I rememeber that the song which I saw only 1 minute of the final video (so i missed the name) touched my heart deeply. I did have a suspect that it was a Refugees Allstar track but I listened to the Carnival tracks at its none of them..... who knows if we will find it! Blessings.
