"Perhaps she could take the same route as Erykah Badu and her New Amerykah series and have one disc that contains songs about social and political issues, and have a second disc that explores love and relationships. Just a thought"
Love this idea, although those two records did feel a little slapdash, unfocused, and had a lot of filler. I still really enjoyed them, but I reckon if she'd taken about 7 of the best songs from each and put them out as one record, it would've been close to a Mama's Gun level masterpiece.
Idk about the funk / rock vibe either, it worked for D'Angelo (even if I prefer his smoother side) but he's always been more drum and guitar based... I have nightmares that her first album in 17 years will be all Bob Marley covers!!!!! hahah. So happy it's coming together though, she seems more happy and productive than she's been in aaages.

No lol that's not lauryn. However.. I did have to listen to it for a 2nd time. But to answer your question no that's not her.
I strongly believe that we will hear single... or she will just drop her album in the month of June or July this year.

This was posted by her keyboardist the same day that pick with Eric Gales and Leo brooks was posted. Do you think this video is related? http://instagr.am/p/1e1_Zvjz3e

It sounds like her to me at the end of the track when the person says "can you hear me now?"

Do you think this video is related? http://instagr.am/p/1e1_Zvjz3e This beat by her sounds like something she could rap on. If there really is an upcoming solo I hope its a rap record. And with everything going on with Baltimore and previously Ferguson(and everything as a whole) I would like if she made a modern version of what Public Enemy did with "Fear of A Black Planet" or It Takes A Nation Of Millions

Beat goes hard! It does sound like something she'd rap to. ^^^I think that's the direction of her album. :-) We need some realness and dedication to the people and the real intent of hip-hop. We got a few, but when L speaks, ppl listen...a lot.
