I think this is a good idea of showing Ms Hill us get fans are interested in what she is doing musically. I think by asking her questions and showing an interest in her latest work will encourage her I release something. I remember when she was in London someone asked her 2 sing an unplugged song and she do the. Said " these are the songs inward told ppl didn't wanna hear" if he read these forums like u say, she would know there is a huge demand 4 her 2 perform these. the fact is, most people who go to see Lauryn dont give a fuk what she has to say. they want to be entertained at a concert. they want upbeat sh*t not a lecture. We who really appreciate her wise words are NOT who goes to most concerts. those people go to concerts as a party and Lauryn is the host/entertainment, not the priestess she was on Unplugged. She's gotta make $ so she sings what people pay to hear.

But by her only playing songs from Miseducation, do you think she is not being completely truthful to herself? If that is true then isn't she going on whats is popular and not processing foward? There are so many people who love her work from the unplugged album and so on and i know that she get really excited when people ask her to sing one of her unreleased songs.

sengun and IfTheyOnly: While I wouldn’t say that there is a huge demand for Ms. Hill to perform unreleased and “Unplugged” material, I do believe there is an audience for them. I do agree, however, that Ms. Hill wants to know that her fans are still interested in what she does musically—no matter how aloof she may appear at times. What is the point of creating if you can’t share it? That's why she does get excited when asked to perform one of those songs. So there's nothing wrong with having questions. When fans start showing indifference, are they really fans anymore? But I don’t think our interest carries any weight when it comes to releasing new material. If it’s not what the execs think the public wants to hear, then it's not up to her. I suppose if it were, she would have put out something long ago. So it could be said that she is being truthful to herself by not conforming to whatever the execs want her to create for the masses. As far as her singing what's most popular, all artists perform their most recognizable songs. The fact that she rearranges her songs shows that she is not stagnant and has progressed musically. Industry execs, however, have decided that we don't get to hear her new material. And that's disheartening to some fans because after years, no one is saying when we will get to hear it--if ever. There is a blurb on Schwartz's website stating that new music will be released in the "late summer or fall 2012," b2b.label3am.com/artists/laurynhill/It's about that time, so I guess we'll see...

I will try, Sabela , although I haven't really tweeted anything since about May. Ms. Hill has been tweeting more as of late, but it's not really in a conversational manner, i.e. replying back to other Twitterers like Oprah and some other celebrities do. She mostly just announce concert stuff. I will have to get back to using my account on a regular basis. However, I'm not going to try to approach her or anyone in her camp about that until after she clears up her court issues, which I believe is next week. Then I will try again on Twitter or in some other way.

If you posted a question in "Operation Ask Ms. Lauryn Hill", she got it—in her hands. I told y’all I was going to get those questions to her—no matter how long it took. But fate intervened; otherwise I’d still be trying to figure it out. Now, whether she answers them or not is another thing. But I did tell her I am well aware that she may not answer our questions based on her own reasons. Because I accomplished my goal of getting the questions to Ms. Hill, I’m not going to write to her about it again. So don’t y’all expect me to follow-up and see if she's going to answer, I ain’t doing that I'm sure she's going to be ridiculously busy upon release. So just know that she heard you.
