Damn it sux so bad that i didnt know about this afterparty would have killed to b there, was it any good? and about pras he was following wyclefs every single move thats true but somehow i really got the impression that he didnt know what was goin on and that clef and hill were just running the show while he tagged along. Lauryn was wearing some old denim bell bottom jeans with what looked like wooden flower power shoes with 10 cm heels a fur body warmer lots of bracelets and one BLING GOlden watch which must have weighed like 5 kilos or something, she looked really cool tough.

Lauryn is a solo artist in her heart. She has made it clear enough, at least to me, that The Fugees is something that she is doing to get to her next place: her solo album. I guess that's the agreement between the members and with Sony. The mission is being accomplished.

Well, I dont see why Lauryn Hill needs a Fugees reunion to bring out her record. I dont know any record in the rnb/soul/hiphop field by a female artist that is more anticipated. It will sell regardless...
Back to the show:
1. So it wasnt like each member had a 30 min solo performance and then the fugees came on stage together for 90 min?!!! That is how the concerts were described a few weeks ago...
2. Which NEW (non-mideducation) songs did Lauryn Hill sing?
3. Only ONE brand new track?!
4. Did anyone recognize the DJ?!! Was it J.Period (see a picture of him on http://www.jperiod.com) or was it DJ LEON?! or someone else?!
5. HOW many people were there?! crowded/sold out?! I heard there were 14.000 people?!!! Is that true?! Sounds unbelievable!
6. Were there screens since it was such a big venue?
7. During the solo stuff did the other members join during the performance or was it REALLY SOLO?!
thanks!!
peace!

I'd say the gig in Helsinki was ok. They played all the biggest hits. I disagree with the opinion that the sounds worked well in the arena. May depend on positioning, of course. I was not on the floor level but still very close to the stage and i was all the time distracted by the bad sounds. I was able to recognize the songs but heard practically no invidual vocals. Clef really kept the audience warm but i'd see it so that he actually had to to it. It was a very routine gig, nothing extremely exciting. Compared to Lauryn's in the Pori jazz festival last summer...well, Lauryn played a lot of Fugees songs and they all sounded better there. In addition some idiots started fighting in the audience which kind of turned my mood down. Who a hell wants to fight in a Fugees concert?! Still, it was nice to see them live. I doubt it's going to happen again...

"Yeah these reviews sound much better then the reviews of lauryns solo tour! Could anybody tell me how her voice sounded?"
BS. Lauryn's shows at Montreux and Lucca were probably the best concerts I've ever seen. You weren't there so don't make shit up. She's just doing this lame fugee tour to make some MONEY. She aint into to it. When she was in Europe she did a lot of talking to the audience. See if she makes one sound in europe.

What's your problem? Relax a little bit. I don't know what you want to say with your message "RealMa", but you are just a fan like every other fan here in this forum. And it is my opinion that the reviews sound not as contovery as the ones about the summer tour.
PEACE!

hay the invisible man! here i can't agree with you I think different coz i think that lots of people like the fugees more than lauryn's solo creativity.the fugees sing mostly rap and are .... i son't know how to say better.....well thair music is ok but not enough for mostly for L/ she needs creating something of her own-something real, peaceful,beautiful... SOME people who once heard the fugees and came to L's concert may be dissapointed coz SHE SINGS another music, her creativiry differs (u can compare the fugees' nappy heads and L's SELAH, boof baf and the passion... they all are good to me but I absolutelly understand L coz if i was she i would feel the nessesity in creating something else......coz we grow and singing in group depends not only on the will of 1 member(L)...

Well, I dont see why Lauryn Hill needs a Fugees reunion to bring out her record. I dont know any record in the rnb/soul/hiphop field by a female artist that is more anticipated. It will sell regardless... Back to the show: 1. So it wasnt like each member had a 30 min solo performance and then the fugees came on stage together for 90 min?!!! That is how the concerts were described a few weeks ago... --No, like said before show started with dj playing differents songs about 10-20minutes..i think. Then Wyclef came on stage and started the show with no woman no cry. Most of the show they were on the stage all together. Show lasted about 2 hours. All fugees classics were played and few solo songs that are already mentioned in this thread. 2. Which NEW (non-mideducation) songs did Lauryn Hill sing? --I have no ide. Sorry. 3. Only ONE brand new track?! --I cant answer this questin eather. Some songs were played that in didn't regognize. Maybe they were from first album that i personaly haven't listen to that much. Or maybe they were new songs. Some other may answer this questin. 4. Did anyone recognize the DJ?!! Was it J.Period (see a picture of him on http://www.jperiod.com) or was it DJ LEON?! or someone else?! -- I wasn't so close at the stage so i could answer this question, nyt the dj was of the hook! 5. HOW many people were there?! crowded/sold out?! I heard there were 14.000 people?!!! Is that true?! Sounds unbelievable! -- I was quit disoppointed that Hartwall arena wasn't sold out. All the upper seating area was empty. In my opinion there were about 6000-8000 people. 6. Were there screens since it was such a big venue? -- There were no screens. 7. During the solo stuff did the other members join during the performance or was it REALLY SOLO?! -- Yes, other members joined when solo songs were performed. Like when praz sang Ghetto Superstar all the other members were on stage too. All together show rocked! -Kaza

Thanks for answering the questions KAZA, and welcome to the board! 6000-8000 people is quite a lot in my opinion... I didn't expect that many... Actually I think it is normal that the upper seats in those big venues stay empty. At least that is the case in the arenas in Hamburg and Cologne. The upper seats were not for sale in the first place. A pity you dont know the names of the lauryn hill songs (the new ones...) - I'm really interested but... anyway. thanks! I'm a bit dissapointed at the 2 hour show... Some sources said it is going to be a 3 hour show with 30 min solos of each member... For some reason I would have prefered that instead of a all mixed solo/fugees show. But your reviews really make me excited! Does nobody got any pictures?! I was already searching the web - without luck. Maybe you finish people can help out... and find a pic on some finish websites?! My suomi has become really crappy peace! PS: sorry for the insulting post in the beginning of the thread - I censored it. Unfortunatly too late but... I can't be here 24/7 PPS: YEAAAH @ "Year Of The Dragon"!! ;D
