here is my review of the concert. Since English is not my mother tongue, I couldn't write everything the way I wanted to, but I hope everthing is understandable and that you understand how amazing the show was. Sorry if there's any spelling mistakes.
Lauryn Hill, moldejazz 2005, my review:
Lauryn came out after her band started the first chord of Doo Wop (That Thing) She was completely on time, looking so cool with her afro, seventy styled jeans, wood jewellary and a bead necklage, blue and yellow Nike t-shirt and a light, brown leather jacket on top. I couldn’t believe that she was only like 15 meters in front of me, I was so happy! On the first song we couldn’t hear her voice that well, but it was so cool anyway, a fifteen man-band, it was so much energy! She said that her voice was a little rough, but I didn’t think it mattered, she sang really powerful. Next came a new track, then an awesome verion of Lost Ones. It was a bit dancehall-y, I think it was my favourite of the show. Her acoustic guitar needed tuning when she as going to sing (I think) Conformed to Love, so while it was being tuned, she told us a little bit about why she had been out out of the limelight for so long, about the industry, creativity, personal growth and having four children. When it was tuned she started singing at once. She did quite a lot of songs from Miseducation, when she did To Zion, she moved directly to the Bob Marley cover Iron Lion Zion from the “marching” bit. She also did Just Want You Around form the Unplugged album, but with the whole band. But it was when she sang the line “Strumming my pain with his fingers” she got the most cheers. She did a very nice version of Killing Me Softly, and the she said “DJ; we’re gonna take it back!” and he put on the intro of Ready or Not. After this song she did How Many Mics and Fu-Ge-La, getting the whole crowd to sing, “Oh-la-la-la” with her. After the Fugees medley she was told she could do three more songs, I can’t remember what song she did first, but then she did a long version of “Just Like water”, getting the whole band to jam with her. It was something wrong with the sound at the end of the song, but it didn’t matter much, it was still so great. It was clear from the start that she was the boss and had total control, nearly conducting the band. The last song was Everything is Everything, as everything else during the show it was really cool. She did no encores, even though the cheers were loud. This concert was amazing, it’s definetely the best concert I’ve been to, I think the best experience of my life! She showed no diva-personality, giving everything to the crowd, dancing, singing and rapping, even though her throat ached, she drank tea in between the songs. She was wonderful and amazing, I will never forget this experience.

You counted wrong. There were 13 musicians and 3 backup singers. The "large" number is mostly due to having a large percussion section (4) allowing a more reggae sound when desired. The rest of the musicians: 2 guitar, 2 bass guitar, 1 drums, 1 "DJ", 2 keyboard, 1 piano-ish keyboard (guy playing stage left). Glad you enjoyed the show. Sorry you got a short setlist but that's how it goes. I guess by the end of the tour she was tired. The diva-personality is wildy misreported, as you discovered. And your throat would ache too if you did 14 shows in the same time period.

4 percussionists 1 drummer 3 back-up singers 1 keyboard 1 synth 1 DJ 2 base players 2 guitarists = 15 people! There were one man controlling the sound too, but I didn't count him as a part of the band, so it is 15 people in the band.
I don't think we got a particulary short set, she played for 1 hour and 45 minutes. And I said that it didn't matter that her voice was rough, I didn't say anything like "Her voice was rough, that ruined the whole show, it was so bad." It seems like that's what you think I thought, but that is wrong, I don't blame her the least!

BandCounter is correct. The band on the euro tour was 16 including the 3 backup singers.

My wish is that you do a serious kick-ass marshal arts scene in one of the upcoming Fugees video. Sorta like Vivica Fox in that Quentin Terrentino flick (Part II...) Datz whaz up!
If anyone knows Lauryn or knows someone who knows her, please tell her..HURRY!
