I would love to support a petition to show Lauryn and the record company that she has loyal fan that are still out here and ready to support her. but THIS is exactly our motivation behind this petition. To show the idusry that there are thousands of people who are supporting this album and WANT this album. But I really understand your concern. I was very hesitate with the new text at first because I thought that we need a 100% proof first that sony is blocking this. And I still think we urgently need this. However, eversince ROHAN confirmed it (and believe me, we KNOW it is him) I really think we need to take action. peace!

First Sybil I would challenge you to name one person from Columbia that has confirmed this. If you have this persons name then I would advise you to use it rather than some persons screen name with second hand information. As for the Rohan myspace page lets not even get into that. Lets just say I tracked it along with the fictious Lauryn page and they share a great number of similarities. You my dear can believe what ever you want, but your theories on Lauryns personal life have been proven to be wrong so many times, its funny after awhile. I would advise you to stay out of her personal affairs which you know nothing about. Well since you know her so well ROHAN's myspace IS real. HE posted a video of his kids (zion, Selah, John and the other one) playing and having fun. SoulsistaS saw it with her two eyes. you can ask her if u don't believe me.

Trust me that is not Rohan. I don't want to start any controversy, but I could point out some very telling reasons to support this conclusion. Did you know Rohan did an interview with Jaime Kennedy it was a live video stream. He talked about his life very openly even cutting his dreads a few years ago. But, you know what he did not talk about is his family. He quickly stopped the interview when they got to the point of discussing his life with Lauryn. He did not even mention her. So, I find it very suspect that he would all of a sudden start discussing his personal life and with the few members of this board, but that is not the reason I believe 99.99% this is not Rohan. Remember they had 2 additional kids and people didn't know it. End of that!
But, if you honestly look at that myspace page. You know that does not represent Lauryn as of today. She is in such a different place. Iam just saying be honest state what you know and show the industry that there are thousands of people who are supporting Lauryn and would like to see another album on her terms..

Sybil, I don't know anyone on these boards that know what Lauryn's children really look like. I have seen a couple of bad shots of them, but I would not know them if they were standing right next to me and like you I have spent hours trying to find out anything I can about Ms. HIll. So it could have been anybodies kids posted on line. You didn't even see the video. Also, isn't quite ironic the people that say they saw the video. I know one of them would sell his soul to the devil to capture that video and exploit those kids. Give me a BREAK.
Interesting Fact: Did you know Selah was in the Dave Chappelle movie on stage with her Mom.

Look man, I'm not going to argue with you. But I really do believe that it's Rohan Marley. He does not discuss his personal life on his website. And we've seen many pictures of Zion (especially), to know what he looks like. Besides, he was the first person to say that he lives in Los Angeles now, and how ironic, now we hear that Lauryn moved to La. Anyway, the point of the petition, is to show Lauryn support because she said in the essence interview that there were forces blocking her independant projects, she mentionned the record company in the Trace interview and the Trevor Nelson interview.

As a fan, i would support a petition for an album release and that's what the petition is doing. It's realising that there are fans out there who are still fans of Lauryn's all these years later

The reason I so desperately wanted you guys to be honest in your approach to the petition is because of the following article. I think by saying Columbia is blocking Lauryn's album you are giving support to the fools that have continual tried to call her crazy and degrade her music. I really wish you guys would give it a second thought , because I think this is only the beginning. I really feel you may end up hurting Lauryn in the long run and undercutting all the work she is doing to rebuild her career. I also think you have some individuals involved in the petition that don't have the purist motives. Please open your eyes. City No Longer on a Hill Lauryn Hill is greatness, without exception. But it is time for some kind of intervention. And I don't mean that we should rescue her from drugs, or from her husband/spiritual partner/Rasta coach. There's a petition online now to rescue her second studio album from its current state of non-release. Apparently, Columbia Records is none too thrilled with her current work, and wants her to go back to the drawing board. Well, we all heard the Unplugged album and we weren't thrilled by it either. In fact, we still don't understand it, though the three chords she learned for the guitar are imprinted in our brains much against our will. But my gripe here isn't against her changing styles, or, as she would argue, her rediscovering her true artistic self. Put simply, don't debut new material (styles, instruments, etc.) before you know what you're doing. Learn to play the guitar and perhaps we can take you seriously. Learn the words to your songs and they'll have more impact. Lauryn is an artist, one of the few true ones, but she's not excused from bad live performances and unkempt musical freewrites that have not yet become songs. We don't want to witness an artist's catharsis on the stage, but we'll take the work produced as a result of it. What we want is the real Lauryn: impeccable musicianship, provocative lyrics, refined presentation. Leave the unprofessional, soul queen-cum-hippie, purgatorial white noise at home. eye-brow.blogspot.com/2006/08/city-no-longer-on-hill.html

Of course she has had her bad performances, but all we want is Lauryn to give us something. Hearing that an album is ready and we can't get hold of it is hard, cause we're her fans.
